Antique Cast Iron& Wood 14 Fishing Pole Hardware Store Display Stand Rack Up for sale is this Antique Cast Iron& Wood 14 Fishing Pole Hardware Store Display Stand or rack. This was purchased at the estate sale of a 103 year old woman whose family had owned a hardware store since the late 1800s. This was used in their store. The black metal parts have a heavy black japanned finish. I don't know what type of wood was used to make this but the curved wood part on top has a bird's eye grain. The wood part on top has a groove for the rubber ring with 14 pairs of loops for the fishing pole tops. There are 14 corresponding round recessed spots in the bottom piece of wood for the base of the fishing rods. Unusual must have display rack for the antique fishing rod and reel collector! Condition: It is all original and is in very good ... morecondition with all original parts intact. No cracks or chips in the metal and most of the original japanning is intact.some rubs and oxidation from use but they are pretty minor. Measurements: 33" tall overall. The bottom measures 11" in diameter and the top measures about 6 3/4" in diameter. The rack is easily unscrewed from the heavy cast iron base so I might ship the base separately if it will reduce shipping costs. Markings: None I have many other great items up for auction. This fantastic antique corks crew measures 7" from knife tip to brush end. From handle to screw tip is 5 1/4" The wood handle measures about 3 1/4" There is a chip in the handle at the brush end(see photo) The spiral iron corkscrew is 4 1/4" long. It appears to be hand forged. All of the metal pa rts a re pit ted with age but there appears to be no rust. A very nice display piece!

It resembles French pieces I've seen, but I'm not certain of the history. It has a gold gilding, which is scuffed in various areas, which only gives it more charm. The hook is made of a heavy cast iron metal. The mid section has the word"EILEEN, most likely the person whom this belonged to once upon a time. Antique Wood Towel Rack w/ Rolling Towel Bar Style* Family Farm Provenance
This fine old hand made towel bar is from the family farm in Somerset. Pennsylvania. It was given to us in the 1970's by Aunt Janet who recalled it had what they called a"rolling towel" in that it was made with two towels sewn together. Similar to what is shown. Before the homestead was sold, this, along with a number of other goodies were removed from the house and barn. Uncle Wibb thought the stuff needed"cleaned and fixed up" We think this was one of his projects. The pegs were replaced and paint removed. No harm. I suspect the towel bar looks better now than it ever has. It is 21 1/2" overall. It is time to find it a good home. Check out our other items for more good things from back in the day.

I found this great bracket at a warehouse full of antique industrial items and thought that it would be beautiful repurposed as a wall sconce or bracket to shelve a really cool piece of rusted history. Something would need to be added to the back to hang it if that is what you intend to use it for. The sconce is made of wood and measures 6.5 x 11" and would extend 6" from the wall. The bracket has a metal placard nailed to the front that reads Oliver. I am pretty certain this was used to make furniture or some other woodworking job.

Antique 1800's Eastlake- Iron Hook Wood Wall Hat Coat Rack Hall Tree Cane Shelf- Some pics with camera flash and some pics without camera flash- Rack measures 30" across x 7" high- Here is a very nice eastlake style rack. As you can tell from my title description it can be used for many things but was not exactly sure what to call it.I belive the wood is a walnut but i am not positive. all 5 hooks look to be cast iron and are all very solid.The hooks all swivel to the right and left, they are not stationary but do stay in place. Hooks have no cracks, breaks, or hairlines fractures and should hold fast for many more years,i have put considerable pressure on each hook to see how well they hold and they all were able to take a good amount of weight,rack has 4 white porcelain knobs at each corner i assume for decoration. They are ... moreall in great shape aswell. rack has two holes at the top for mounting onto the wall and all 4 wood pieces have 6 carved lines in them for decoration. i really do not see any damage or issues aside from one trivial insignificant chip in the middle on top of rack,it is very very hard to notice and youd really only see it if you were up close and inspecting it so i really wouldnt worry about it. i also dont believe it is in any danger of chipping any more. basicly top to bottom this is one very nice antique rack, it has a lot of character and needs a new home.it will be packed up and shipped like a new born baby. any questions just ask, need more pictures just ask. Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Love this one. It's very old. It's hand made, and I really don't think that my photos do it justice. It is a hand made wood wall hook with hand carved details on the backplate as well as the end of the hook. The piece is two pieces of solid wood that I believe are oak- it's hard to tell for sure because the patina is so dark, so please look at the grain in my photos and see what ... moreyou think. The two are attached with an iron U shaped bracket, and there is a pin on either side of the back side of the hook to allow it to swivel. When you look really closely, you can see that the hardware is forged iron- U bracket and pins- this one was totally hand made, and it's quite old. The backplate has two small holes for mounting on the wall and it measures 5 3/3" tall by 7/8" wide. The piece is 13 1/2" long from the back of the backplate to the very front of the hook and at the body, the hook is 5/8" by 5/8" and is 5/8" by 1" tall at the end. Check out how there's a"hook" that is carved into the end of the arm- an angled up part to keep your items well secure on the arm. It weighs just over 1/4 lb all together and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- totally usable and strong. The swivel action works great and the piece is surprisinly strong for it's age and inteneded use. There's minor finish wear to spots all over- most seen at the backplate around where the screws used to be. This rustic hook would also work well for a bath robe. The hook is in"as found" condition with some of its original white wash paint remaining. The hook was from a 1700's house. Likely the basemnet or summer kitchen. It is nicely aged and has all the dents and scratches from its storied life. The right end was cut off. It was splintered from a longer board. I matched the angle to the left end and aged it and raised the grain.
