Description(4) vintage cast iron wall mounted brackets. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. For sale is an old cast iron hanger/hook for horse tack. Tools, or household use. It is marked with a patent date of Feb. 1892. It measures 10 3/4" away from the wall when mounted and the mounting plate is 10 3/4" long. The side with 8 stepped double hooks measures 16 1/2" long. Weighs 2 lbs. 6 oz. It was originally painted black and has some paint remaining- where there is no paint it has some light rust. It could be used as is. Repainted, or lightly oiled to prevent further rust. There are no cracks. Chips, or repairs.

This old antique farm household bracket could be used for a number of things such as hanging horse bridles and bits. Hanging garden tools, brooms or? It is made of heavy and thick cast iron. Mounted to a wall this would extend out to about 11 3/4 inches. The space in between the two extending pieces, where tools or brooms could slide in, is approximately 1 1/2" The length of the rear bracket is approximately 10 inches. There are no breaks, cracks, repairs. There are some cast metal spurs, a normal bi-product of casting. This is original and straight from the farm.

This is the biggest and nicest one of these old hitching rings that I have ever come across. It is a magnificent big one. The ring is a hair over 7" in diameter. And the ring stock is about 1" Overall length of the ring and post is 15 1/2" It weighs a little over 6lbs. It is in super nice condition with a nice finish. It has been lightly brushed of any loose surface rust and oiled. The construction is early and primitive, with the blacksmith's lap joints clearly visible and prominent. unbelievable piece that looks way nicer"in hand" than in the pictures. I am very pleased to bring you a great pair of heavy cast iron bridal tack hooks that came right from a barn that was built in the late 1800's here in Western Pa. These hooks were specifically designed for tack and heavy tack at that as the bottom hook was molded with a curved wide part as you can put on your bridals. Harnesses and there is a rounded ball in front so it would not get caught and be easy for the on and off. These maesure 8" high in the back with a tri hole configuration and the top hook is 13" long and the bottom is 8 1/2" long with the cast being a wide 1 1/2" I am sorry.looking on here and seeing all these coat hooks is fine but this one is designed for heavy duty use. These were never painted and a lil oil and a wire brush will bring these right back and here is your green tip for the day,if you soak ... morethese in vinegar overnight, the rust will melt off and all you have to do is take a lil steel wool and they will bring back the original smoothness and luster. PLease take a good look as they have no cracks, breaks,or repairs and will serve your family for another 100 years. Love the old stuff! 3 ANTIQUE EQUESTRIAN HORSE HEAD HEAVY BRASS COAT TACK HOOKS RECLAIMED FROM FARM
I am listing more of my 92 year old Mother's Antiques and Collectables she has acquired over the last 90 years which have to go now she has sold her house and come to live with us in a recently completed Granny Flat. This is a GREAT LOT OF 3 x ANTIQUE- PROBABLY VICTORIAN OR EDWARDIAN- EQUESTRIAN RELATED HORSES HEAD HEAVY BRASS COAT/ CUPBOARD/ TACK HOOKS RECLAIMED FROM FARMHOUSE BARN OR STABLE. These were used in the barn or stable of my Mother's family farmhouse- she remembers them from an early age so is guessing they are probably from the Victorian or Edwardian era. They were used for holding the farm horses tack. Etc, at the time- the farm used horses and did not use tractors. They were removed in 1952 when the farmhouse was sold and put in a box in the loft of the new home. They are all still in very good undamaged condition- ... moreperhaps just requiring a good polish although most will probably leave them as is with the lovely age patina. They could be re-used as coat/ cupboard/ garage hooks or for anything you wish. Height 15 cms. Each one weighs approx 430 gms. W hat you see in the scans is what you get so please check them out carefully so you know what you are buying as these form an important part of my description. Don't miss these rare old items.
