The pictures speak for themselves. I admit that I know little about this old STIMSON Wall Mount Scale Bracket. And that's after having it for several years. Moving it& tripping over it a half a dozen times. In my internet research I could only find 1 more like it. It was complete, dated 1928& was called a Meat Hook Scale. I had intentions too make a tool rack for my log furniture tools but that is probably not going to happen. I cannot say the two pieces go together but they were together when I bought them. The total length of the steel pipe is 29 1/2" and the cast iron wall mount is 21" and weights 31 lbs 12 oz. The scale bar? is brass& 28 1/4" long. It weights 7 lbs 9 oz. They weight 40 lbs total. Antique Heavy Rustic Barn / Utility Iron Shelf Brackets / Braces
These were salvaged from an old barn. They are cast iron support braces/ brackets for use on a shelf or work bench. These are very heavy and quite strong.They were used to support a work bench in the barn that had a long and heavy wood top. Each one has the two ends bent to a 45 degree angle. The top and the bottom mount flush to the wall and under the work it is supporting. They are in very good condition with no breaks. Chips or cracks in the cast iron. There are remnants of old paint on the surface. They are 11 inches long with the angled ends being 1 1/2 inches. Please feel free to ask questions. Vintage/Antique Large Heavy Duty Brass? Hook - Hand Made?
This large hook appears to be older and made from brass. However. I'm not an expert and cannot guarantee how old it may be, or what metal it's made of. I can say that it has a brass-tone and an older"patina. Everything about this hook makes me think that it's hand made, but I can't guarantee that either. The hook is slightly off-center to the left and the top edge of the base is not exactly symmetrical- one corner is rounded more than the other. This is also true of the lower edge of the top square of the base, and the bottom edge of the base. The tip of the hook is also not quite symmetrical. This is a unique and heavy hook. It weighs a little over 14 ounces. Its total length is about 5 inches long.
