It measures about 6 1/2" high for the hook and about 5 1/2" high for the chain link. I could see this today being used as a chandelier hook. Antique Wood Handle, Hand Forged Iron CORKSCREW w/ Boar Brush & Knife
This fantastic antique corks crew measures 7" from knife tip to brush end. From handle to screw tip is 5 1/4" The wood handle measures about 3 1/4" There is a chip in the handle at the brush end(see photo) The spiral iron corkscrew is 4 1/4" long. It appears to be hand forged. All of the metal pa rts a re pit ted with age but there appears to be no rust. A very nice display piece!

Vintage Hand Forged Large Iron Hook. Eyehook, and Slide Ring. The Large hook measures 9" long and hook is 4" across. Hook opening is 2 1/2" Hook and eye were pounded from a solid piece of iron. Slid Ring looks to accomodate 3/4" to 1" cable or rope. This was most likely used in a barn as a hanger and slide for hay bales or something similar. Six of these hooks are the same and the hook that has old paint on it is just a bit smaller. Six of these hooks are in very good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or worn areas in the metal and there are no repairs, but one of the larger black hooks has a flaw in the cast iron(sort of a dent) near the end of the hook which you can see in the pictures. The bigger hooks were all painted black at some point so they do show signs of natural wear and use with most of the paint missing. This is a very old nail or spice that I acquired in Nacogdoches. The oldest city in Texas. It is a hand forged square nail that tapers at the end to forma chisel shape. The head of the nail appears to have angled sides but it is hard to tell. not a circle for sure. 7 1/2" long. Rusty with a bit of Texas mud or clay. Of course, it may have originated from another area, so there is a chance it is not from Texas.

Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Love this one. It's very old. It's hand made, and I really don't think that my photos do it justice. It is a hand made wood wall hook with hand carved details on the backplate as well as the end of the hook. The piece is two pieces of solid wood that I believe are oak- it's hard to tell for sure because the patina is so dark, so please look at the grain in my photos and see what ... moreyou think. The two are attached with an iron U shaped bracket, and there is a pin on either side of the back side of the hook to allow it to swivel. When you look really closely, you can see that the hardware is forged iron- U bracket and pins- this one was totally hand made, and it's quite old. The backplate has two small holes for mounting on the wall and it measures 5 3/3" tall by 7/8" wide. The piece is 13 1/2" long from the back of the backplate to the very front of the hook and at the body, the hook is 5/8" by 5/8" and is 5/8" by 1" tall at the end. Check out how there's a"hook" that is carved into the end of the arm- an angled up part to keep your items well secure on the arm. It weighs just over 1/4 lb all together and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- totally usable and strong. The swivel action works great and the piece is surprisinly strong for it's age and inteneded use. There's minor finish wear to spots all over- most seen at the backplate around where the screws used to be. Huge Antique Architectural Hand Forged Iron Brackets 24" by 22" Set of 3
For your consideration is this wonderful old set of three hand forged iron brackets from the turn of the century. Mostly in rust, with some green paint as shown. The brackets were once used to hang street lamps, and are all hand blacksmithed, no welds, all hand riveted. These brackets measure 24" across by 22" long and are made with heavy iron 3/8" thick by 2" wide across the top and the scroll work is 1 1/2" wide. The holes for mounting are 9/16" and the brackets are in great condition, no damage. They weigh 15# each, so would be sturdy enoughto hold up about anything. And the ring stock is about 1" Overall length of the ring and post is 15 1/2" It weighs a little over 6lbs. It is in super nice condition with a nice finish. It has been lightly brushed of any loose surface rust and oiled. The construction is early and primitive, with the blacksmith's lap joints clearly visible and prominent. unbelievable piece that looks way nicer"in hand" than in the pictures. Antique Hand Wrought Forged Iron Spring Clip & Pulley Gate Door Farm Primitive
Up for bidding is this lot of two antique items: one Hand Wrought Spring Clip and one Pulley. These came from an old house here in the Rochester area. Where they had sat for a long, long time. The Hand Wrought Spring Clip is in working condition. And has a delicate curl at the opening end. At the other end it has a hand-wrought link and mounting bracket. I assume the mounting bracket was twisted into its current shape during the removal process, but I don't know what it looked like originally. It was like that a long time before I ever saw the thing. The Pulley looks more like a manufactured piece to me(although I'm certainly no expert) It spins freely but would probably benefit from a little oiling. It is 18 inches tall and 2" at its widest on the bracket itself, there is 2 prongs that are very primitive and they appear to be glued in place with liquid nail or some other compound, the prongs are uneven with one being 5" long and one at 4" long. It is made of Hand Forged Iron. And has the seam from where it was hammered over. It is in great shape for its age. It is 2 1/4" diameter. Inside diameter is 1 1/2" and the eye bolt is 3 1/4" long, the square nut turns freely. A hitching ring was used in a barn to tie up a horse. This antique ring could be placed on a barn door.
