It measures about 6 1/2" high for the hook and about 5 1/2" high for the chain link. I could see this today being used as a chandelier hook. Antique Architectural Victorian Cast Brass/Bronze Lady Tie Towel Rack Holder
At auction is a very beautiful architectural metal hanging rack- I believe it was made to be a tie rack/towel holder. The overall dimensions are 7 3/4" high by 8" wide. The hanging bar is 7 1/8" wide. The beautiful lady reminds me of the old Gibson Girls from that time period. I'm not sure what the metal is- it's heavier so I'm thinking maybe bronze or brass. There are some scratches and marks on the metal which are consistent with age/usage but I would say it's in very good vintage condition. The lady is exquisite- she has a bow on one shoulder and I think a bow in her hair. This architectural towel rack has a very old repair as shown in the last photo. But it is barely noticeable. Pair Antique 19th C Victorian Bronze Face Figural Architectural Wall Hooks
This is a wonderful pair of antique 19th century Victorian bronze figural face architectural wall hooks. They date circa 1880s or 1890s. Each is 6 3/4 inches long(17.15 cm) The bronze portion alone is 5 inches on each(12.7 cm) and the screw piece is 1 3/4 inches(4.45 cm) Your initial reaction may be that they're gargoyles. But they're actually a man's face. The detail on them is incredible. The hat's are so cool looking. As a result of my research. I found that these originally had gold gilt finishes. Most of the gold gilt finish has worn off, but some does remain. The screw sections are made of iron and have surface rust. But they're both very sturdy. One screw however, is crooked(please see photos) Each has great old green tarnish in between the crevices. This really adds to their look! It has a lion face decoration and is found in good used condition, made of metal as well. It does attract a mange and has a nice copper patinated appearance. There appears to have been an older repair on the hook facing up front. It could have been made that way, but lean in the direction of a repair. It is well made. Antique Metal Architectural Fragment for your Home or Garden, Harps or Lyres
This piece is double sided. Meaning that the intricate design markings are found on both sides. It has developed a beautiful patina that highlights those designs. I do not know what it was originally used for or part of. There are five screws in place and one is missing. The screws would have fastened it to something at the top and bottom. Depending on your intended use, you may want to remove them for safety reasons. Among other things, it would make a lovely garden ornament if you removed the bottom screw and replaced it with a longer stake. Not including the screws, it is 14 5/8" high and 14 7/8' wide at its widest point. It is heavy and sturdy and would not be subject to bending even under extreme conditions. Up for auction are five antique wall mounted architectural double hanging coat and or hat rack hooks recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. They are all found in good used condition, made of metal and do attract a magnet. Some retain their original finish and others are a bit rusty or with paint stains, but will clean up for you. Each has a ball shaped finial on top. They can also be repainted if so desired. Each have two mounting holes for easy mounting. Screws are not included. They measures approximately 3 1/2" x 3" and comes out from the wall approximately 3 3/4" One of the hooks on the bottom final and hook is a bit different in size. Please see the photos for details.
