It dates from the 1890s to 1900s. It has a couple of rub marks on the tabletop from dragging something on the table top. It is noticeable, but not severe. It is a solid oak 54 inches quarter sawn top. The table is 30 inches high and when all four leaves are inserted the table becomes 8 feet long. It is a good-looking table with a large reeded center column and a platform base that goes down into the biggest ball and claw feet I have seen in a long time. The table is in a medium oak stain. I was going to cut the veneer and glue it to the tabletop but I ran out of time. The table is in great condition except for the circular burn mark on the top(see photos) All the bamboo has the great variegated pattern and the patina that can only be acquired over many years. It’s not in mint condition. But you wouldn’t expect it to be since it is probably from the Victorian period. The table ... moretop(looks like oak) is a bit uneven where two pieces of wood join. I use it just as it is with a small tablecloth to hide the burn mark. I think the veneer would look great as the tabletop, though. It would fit well except that it might lose the tops of the iris leaves. The painted veneer is actually signed by Lindley Briggs and is a limited print 154/370, dated 1984. The measurements are approximately: 28 1/2” high. The table top is 18" x 18" and the bottom sh elf is 14” x 14" This is a great looking classic piece and would be even more unique with the veneer attached to the top. Beautiful antique ornate table. Very detailed legs& underneath. Table measures 31" wide x 21" deep x 29.5" tall. I'm not sure about wood type. But I was told by woodworker that the legs and detail are Mahogany. Antique dealer estimated it to be early 1900's. Top was either replaced or repaired. There is a split right down the middle of the table top and a metal brace under the top that holds the two pieces together. Very nicely done repair. I have tried to show that in the pictures.it never bothered me, but I used the piece and am not a collector or dealer. This is a wonderful tiger sawn oak turn of the century table. With a split pedestal base, lion claw foot and a hard to find lion head incorporated ... moreinto the leg. It has rope beaded skirt molding on the tiger sawn skirt frame. We have taken this 44-inch solid oak top table with four 10-inch-wide leaves, and have skirted them so they match the rope braiding on the regular skirt and refinished the entire table. It has the original center leg, four leaves that are original to the table but we skirted the sides, and everything else is all original. It’s been stripped, sanded, stained, and multiple coats of hand-rubbed lacquer applied. The lion heads are those Gothic-style heads with the teeth exposed, and the applied carving has wood and gesso on them that is all perfect. The toenails on the claws become very pronounced against the octagon shaped base, and it’s all solid wood. The overall size is 44 inches round, and 30 inches high. When all four leaves are in, it becomes 83 inches long, which can easily take a set of six chairs. We are really please to have both found this beautiful table, and to have it all skirted out with leaves, because it looks better than the big ugly gaps that most people sell their tables with. Beautiful antique Victorian brass& marble table. Pedestal/ plant stand. Coloration and pattern of the antique marble is gorgeous. Both pieces are free of any cracks or chips, which is unusual for marble this old. The brass is a beautiful buttery gold color and has a lovely shine to it. The lacy designs on the bases that hold the marble pieces are gorgeous accents to offset the marble. The legs are curvy and end with ornate decorative bases for the feet. One of the small decorative pieces is missing where the center marble base attaches to the leg, see last pic) This is not at all noticeable when against a wall. You could easily have a replacement piece made by a company in Georgia that I deal with, should you be interested. The table/pedestal measures approximately H 31"x W 13 1/2" x D 13 1/2" I could disassemble this for ... moreeasy shipping. Should you desire. Victorian Wicker Side Table - Great Shape!
