I do not know what wood it is made from but it is beautifully figured- possibly walnut. It has a hole drilled in one end and a plate fitting underneath that takes a chrome. Tilting head table light. The lamp is optional. In the sense that, although the hole for it exists in the wooden table top, you do not have to fit the lamp. I have shown it with the lamp in place, and a lamp shade that I had lying around. I know that lamp shades are a very personal choice, so the lampshade is not included in this sale. VINTAGE DEWAR'S SCOTCH TABLE BAR CHERRY LAMP - COMPANY OFFERED PROMOTION
A Vintage Bar Lamp sold as a promotion by Dewar's Scotch in the 1960's and early 1970's. That is the closest we have been able to date it. Made of Solid Cherry Wood with one side painted and the other side stained. Between the various slats of Cherry are Lucite sections that defuse the light. The Lamp looks the same on all four sides and has a separate on off switch located on the cord. The electrical is all present and the unit works fine. We remember advertisements that Dewar's ran for this lamp. It was not given away for free. You had to mail in a slip from a magazine along with the purchase price to get it. It measures 10 1/4" long by 5" wide by 4 3/4" in height and the cord is 5' long. Condition is very good. The Bar Lamp only has a few and small nicks in it. The verde green finish base stands 21 1/2" high with finial. 7" wide decorative platform and the harp has a 1" riser. The base has a cloth cord, antique plug and a bryant two light pull chain cluster; one click, the left socket comes on, two clicks, both sockets comes on, third click, the right bulb turns on and fourth click, is off. The top of the lamp where the light cluster begins has(3) small splits(refer to last picture) and has been like this since I purchased the base years ago. This is the only issue with the base. It is in very good condition. When I purchased the base from the previous owner. They also gave me what appears to be a"handel" type harp. I was told ... morethat this was the original harp but they removed it and replaced the existing harp so they could use a fabric shade. I am including the antique harp with the base. In my opinion. Welcome to Au Fil de l'Eau An elegant Vintage Baroque Style side or lamp table with straight and crotch walnut veneer and maple scroll inlay on its round top. A scalloped apron and graceful curvy legs ending in goat feet. Probably from 1920s or 1930s. Condition: nice patina. Base and top are dark brass like metal with few specs. No dents. I have never had to polish it. It is an older one, preowned. No smoke. There are no chips or broken off parts.
