It is a sort of canyon red color with gold painted accents and trim. The paint has a rustic finish giving the desk plenty of charm and character. There are two drawers that open and close easily and are constructed with dovetailed joints. From the floor to the bottom of the desk ... moremeasures 24" Which is pretty standard and should fit most chairs. This writing desk is quite sturdy and in overall very good condition. There are two cosmetic age splits on the back corners(see pictures) These are a naturally occurring phenomenon that do not affect the structural integrity of the desk. The four tapered legs of the desk are beautifully decorated and end in brass casters. This desk has plenty of rustic charm and would make a lovely addition to any home or office. The two drawers open and close very easily. Looks great from the side! Both drawers are constructed with dovetailed joints. There are two brass pulls on each drawer. Another one of my estate sale Relics. The legs are black walnut that has been painted numerous times.And the final color is yellow cream with gold radiator paint in places. The legs would make great shelf brackets with a little bit of work,and some woodworking knowledge. its difficult to measur a piece like this but i will do my best. The one leg has a large chip out of the top carving. The legs measure approx 10 in tall if they where standing like table legs should be. They are approx 1 3/4in wide at the top and bottoms with a narrowing portion in the center. There are two dowl holes in the back of the curved portion where it would have sat against the column. I think these would safely hold a 9in shelf with a little modification. They are nicely carved,and the carvings are actual carvings,and NOT plaster applied. Pedestal, some feet) c. 1825 and significantly rebuilt in the 20th Century Item# 12001078208 This is a beautiful decorative work. Crafted using old parts to lend originality and age to the table as it was crafted for a second time during the 20th Century. It features a broad solid black and gray marble top, resting over a new mahogany veneered top with pine plywood secondary woods, attaching to the head of the base with screws from beneath. The pedestal itself appears to be of the period, probably c. 1825, a wonderful gesso decorated and gilt highlighted work of art that is wrapped in a bulbous leafed palmetto formation over a ring turned base. This tenons into the triangular Lion Footed mahogany ... moreveneered base. Most of the feet are rebuilt, though after one original foot to maintain the integrity of the design. While this is not a collector quality work. This is an affordable work with significant character and age throughout. An original Gueridon of this style would be prohibitively priced, making this the perfect selection of a decorator with a budget looking for the depth of an original without the cost. Measurements: 36" wide x 29 1/4" high Condition Report: 1. Severely distressed gilt with exposed and damaged gesso on pedestal. 2. Numerous chips to marble top around the edge(all photographed in the slideshow) 3. Composed of old parts. Meaning portions of this table were originally a period Gueridon table, probably damaged significantly which led to it being overhauled: Round top is not original. Most feet are rebuilt(one looks like it is original) regilded, the top of the pedestal is 20th century, the marble is probably later too. 4. Feet have some mismatched veneer. We are pleased to offer this extremely beautiful Louis XV style antique side table. This exceptional. Wooden table or night stand features wonderful lines with carved wood accents. The table is two tiered with the top tier being much larger than the bottom. The table top is recessed with a carved wood, raised lip around the borders. It is square but has rounded corners and curved mid sections. The table top has a large, carved clam shell and scroll accent just beneath it on all four sides. The table has nicely carved legs that curve into small scrolls at the top. They angle in toward the bottom tier. Each leg has carved wood acanthus leaves on their lower sections. The feet are very unique as they appear, at first glance, to be claw feet. However, they are actually acanthus leaves that have been carved to look like claw feet. The bottom tier ... moreis small and has squared corners with inverted curves. It has a large, carved wood, lidded urn finial in the center. The table is all wood construction. It has a painted and glazed fiinsh with the soft gold glaze being the predominant color. The carved accents have been finished in a darker gold for contrast. It is quite lovely and very nice. The table is sturdy as well. There are no manufacturer's marks but there is a number stamped under the table top(see picture 11) The table is old and dates to the early part of the 20th century. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of antique(c1920s) French tables or nightstands. This pair. In Louis XV style, features beautiful Rosewood with Burl inlay veneers. There is gold gilt paint which separates the two woods and which adds to the beauty and character of the tables. Ornate brass accents the wood. There is a pierced brass raised trim which borders most of the top circumference. There are large brass rosette swags/drops on each side of the drawer areas. The front legs of the table have large brass accents on their lower sections. The tables are more oval than round. They each have 3 functional drawers which are wood, not a composite. The tables are finished in a high gloss so they do have a wonderful sheen. The tables are in very good antique condition. Standing on traditional escargot feet. The finely shaped and molded frieze rails sweep in to the fine cabriole legs. The parquet top is all good with no significant marks or scratches. When the table is closed it measures; 51 inches long x 39 inches wide and 29.75 inches high. With one leaf drawn out it is 70 inches long and with both leaves fully extended it is 89 inches long. The table is in it's original polish but has been given a wax polish giving a mid to dark oak colour and fine patination. For the age it is in great condition(couple of light scuffs,scratches here and there) I give this a 9+ on condition. I am VERY paritcular about the condition of furnishings in my home. I have thoroughly enjoyed this table but it is time for someone else to enjoy it. the table measures approximate 30" tall and the top measures approximatley 29" accross and weighs about 16 pounds. INCREDIBLE TABLE WITH EXTRAORDINARY CARVED DETAIL! We are pleased to offer this antique. Wood console/entry table. This stunning old table features intricate carved designs with strong French or Italian influences. The table has graceful lines and curves. The table has been painted white(somewhat distressed"whitewashed" finish) with gold gilt accenting on the table rim and on the carved features. The carvings are numerous with acanthus leaves and shell pattern on the front apron of the table with an open/pierced carved design. The back legs have large acanthus leaf accents. The feet have a carved"talon and ball" or claw and ball design. The two front legs feature exquisitely carved birds, one on each upper leg. The birds have wonderful detail with cross hatched feathers and intricate eyes and beaks. STUNNING! The bottom ... morestretcher features a center acanthus leaf shell with an incised cross. The table is in very good condition with some signs of use. It is quite sturdy(but not terribly heavy) and does not wobble. There is some chipped paint on the top as well as some condensation marks from glasses being placed on the top with no coasters. These are not terribly distracting and are somewhat faint in nature. The table top could be painted quite easily to match the existing white color if you do not care for the"character marks" This is a beautiful table with exceptional detailing. ANTIQUE ITALIAN TOLE TABLE PLANT STAND SHABBY CHIPPY FRENCH COUNTRY CHIC
This is an incredible old table I have never seen anything quite like this before. It is 30” tall the top is 17 ¼” in diameter. It has a heavy cast iron base with a round metal table top. The ornate base is 15” across the bottom with 2 decorative curved iron legs and a third iron leg in the design of a flower vase complete with metal flowers that appear to be tulips combined with pointed leaves and a cattail type plant as well. The metal top is scalloped around the edge in a leaf design. I’m was told that this dates from the 1930's. It sits level and firmly on the floor and the top is firmly attached to the base with screws. The floral work is all intact with a few tiny bends in the leaves and flowers but otherwise there is no damage only a lot of age. It may have been a different color at one time but it is all white with lots of ... morechipping paint. It could be easily repainted any color along with painting each individual flower for a true piece of art. But I have left this as I found it. This would look perfect with any décor. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique side/accent table. Circa 1930s-1940s, this table is a fantastic example of French Art Deco with some obvious Louis XIV or Empire influences. The table base is gilded iron and combines sleek lines with ornate details. The table has 4 double curved legs that attach to a circular cross piece. The legs have small spherical finials at the ends. The top of the table base is adorned with gorgeous curved iron. A gilded tole drapery and swag pattern is present around the entire upper circumference. Large, dimensional rosettes, also in gilded tole, are attached as accents. The table top is a gorgeous stone(marble/quartz/granite) in a grayish taupe color. It has a soft pattern and is not"busy" The top is marked on the bottom with a large center character and with"W. Port France" printed ... moreon the underside as well. I do not know if the top is original to the base. The base has an inner lip which may have been home to a piece of glass at one time. As it is, the stone sits independently on top of the base. Regardless, this is a stunning table. It is in wonderful condition with very little evidence of age or use. There are some small faded areas to the gilded finish, but these are very minor and do not distract from the piece. The stone is quite heavy. The table, though open in design, has a substantial feel and also has weight to it. It is very sturdy. The piece measures as follows: The marble top is 22" in diameter and is approximately.75" thick. The table base is 24.5" tall without the stone top. It is 20.1/8 wide at the exterior top measurement and is 19.7/8" in diameter at the bottom. With the stone attached. The table is 25.5" tall. There have decorative square, raised wood pieces on the skirt of the lower tier. These have been left in the original finish to contrast with the paint. The legs are lovely in Duncan Phyfe style. This is an old early 1900s I think but may be older set of 3 stacking tables from an estate. All together they are 27" tall and top table is 18 1/2" by 14 1/2" The top has a hand painted scene of a shepard and his sheep. The top table has seen the most use and could be made more beautiful by a person who has furniture knowledge. It has numerous dark spots that furniture polish did not effect and a 3" and 1" scratch and other smaller scuff marks. These dark spots may of been caused by heat as a guesse on my part as I really do not know. An artist could touch up the scratches. The top is in used as is condition.
