This is a beautiful example of the industrial carts made in the first decade or two of the twentieth century. I have added a salvaged wood top in my professional woodworking shop. Where it was in use for decades. It almost certainly dates to the construction of the industrial complex my shop is in, built in the teens. All the running gear are in good order. Of early 1900 vintage. Industrial work table with wooden top and green painted cast iron legs, marked 17Z35. Recovered from an old factory located in Ligonier, Indiana. The heavy Rock Maple slab top is constructed using bolted angle irons. The table is in very good vintage condition with a few minor issues: One of the legs has a heavy weld showing and also has broken tab at the foot. The top has minor checking and a visible crack is present by one of the corners. However it is still held together tightly, thanks to the bolted angle iron construction technique. You're looking at a set of rare. Antique Standard Sewing Machine Co. table legs. These cast iron legs are in great condition and are perfect for creating a standard-height(30" table. From the photos you can see that this is a particularly elegant set of legs with a nice. Wide stance. As they currently sit, the legs are 28.5" in height but this can be decreased by approx 2" by loosing bolts on both ends of the leg(see pic#6) In pic#10 you can see a chip in the mount area. This doesn't affect the stability of the table once mounted because there are plenty of other holes that are intact. Otherwise. There don't seem to be any repairs, cracks or chips. Industrial Lunch Hall Table Cast Iron Swing Arm Seats Vintage Factory Loft
HELLO BIDDERS- You are bidding on an A VERY RARE AND DESIRABLE EARLY 1900'S CAST IRON INDUSTRIAL FACTORY LUNCH HALL TABLE WITH SWING OUT SEATS. This table came from a TNT(Dynamite) manufacturing plant in Chattanooga. TN. The table was manufactured by Chicago Hardware Foundry Co. around 1918. Sani Products was formed to merchandize the products made by Chicago Hardware. Included is a pic of the piece when I got it. I sand blasted the frame. Hand polished out the steel and shot it with four layers of clear lacquer. I was able to save some of the original nuts& bolts but most of them were already missing or had to be cut off or broke when heated trying to get them off. The table measures 29" tall x 24" wide x 53" long and has four swing out cast iron seats. The top is beautiful with dings and wear but a heavy solid piece of maple. This is the first table I have seen that has the optional feature of the back rest. These tables are very rare and to find one with the back rest is nearly impossible. If you don't won't the back rest on the unit it is attached with screws and can be taken off. I included a pic of the seat with the back rest taken off. I have three additional seats available for an additional cost. One of the three has been sand blasted. Polished and shot but the other two have not. I also have the hardware to attach them to this unit and make a six or seven seat table. As you can see the table top and maple seats are missing. They had been replaced with plastic when I got it. You can order the 13" diameter maple seat from Pollard Bros Manufacturing for about $30 per. The top is really a simple matter to find an old oak. Size in inches 53.5" overall length x 23 wide outside. Wheels are 5 and 12 inch diameter. The cart is 13.4 tall from the ground to the top deck. I will ship just the wheels. The top is made ofsolid 1.25" thick solid pine planks with a nicely weathered piece of Masonite over it with a semigloss sheen. It is very sturdy and has two drawers with gorgeous oval bronze pulls. There are holes here and there on the top from where vices and the like were at one time bolted. The pine is older growth and is free of knots. One end has two hard rubber type industrial wheels and the other has stationary fixed iron legs or stands. The cart's frame is cast iron with the original wood planks on the top. One end of each cart has a small round connecting coupling for towing the cart. These are very substantial carts with a weight of about 78 pounds each. Easy to move with the wheels on one end. Each cart was lightly cleaned. No sanding, and top coated with multiply coats of clear non-toxic shellac. All areas were clear coated, top and bottom. A vintage aluminum industrial cart to be used as a coffee table. It has four large bearing swivel castors. Condition is very good with surface wear from normal factory use, the castors all roll and swivel fine. It will need two pieces of glass cut for the top and bottom. It measures 23"1/2 x 27" x 14" H.
