Looks like someone painted the non-enamel/chrome part at one time. Legs have light surface rust. I looked carefully at the table top and all four corners have places that are chipped. The tabletop has chipped places on the left and right corners of the white part of the tabletop in the front. Looks like the left front of the wooden part of the table had some moisture damage at one time. There is a an approximately 3" crack in the surface wood on the left front of the table bottom. For bid is a vintage enamelware lift top kitchen table in very good condition considering age. Table has a couple of chips on enamel but nothing major. Mechanics on table wings are all functional and in good shape, table legs have surface rust but this can be corrected in a number of ways. Ohio prior to the building being demolished. The school was built in 1923, and this cabinet was located in the third floor science lab. It has 24 drawers( 12 on each side) with the original brass numbered labels and locks, as well as the original oak drawer pulls. There are also 2 doors on each side, and the interior space between them runs the width of the cabinet. There is also a long, narrow drawer in one end. The feet have protective cast brass covers that also allow for the cabinet to be screwed to the floor, if necessary. This piece was made by Berger Manufacturing ... moreof Canton, Ohio. Their name and Berloy trademark is on each drawer label. They manufactured all types of fixtures for schools and industrial use, such as file cabinets and shelving. The numbers on the drawers add a somewhat whimsical touch, as they do not run in numerical sequence. This piece could be used in many ways. Not only as a unique kitchen island, but also in a sewing or crafting room. There's lots of room to work and lay things out on the top, and obviously plenty of storage area. For ease in moving, the top can be removed and the drawer section can be removed from the base/ leg section. Three sections are much easier to move than one large piece. The lumber was processed in his sawmill and sent to his shop for finishing. The plant operated from a blacksmith shop until 1892 and then it moved across town, and began producing the blocks as we know them now. The blacksmith used a sycamore tree placed on three legs to straighten horseshoes. The wooden block absorbed the shock of the smith’s hammer. When the butcher saw the block where the anvil was resting. He realized he could use one in his meat market. So John Boos made him one and the rest is history. In the early days the butcher blocks were built for commercial meat markets. At the turn of the century meat purchased at the local market was not refrigerated or frozen, but hung. There is a small piece of wood underneath that needs to be glued. This is very old and in great condition for its age. VINTAGE 1940 Kitchen Dining Table WHITE BLUE ENAMEL TOP Old One Family
Enamel top kitchen dining table at least 70 years old. Vintage item is in vintage condition. I think the sides were white but are now yellow. One corner has been repaired with screws. There are some cracks in some of the boards. Some rust on the aluminum legs; nothing that is deep rust damage. Pretty much surface. The drawer has all of the pieces but has a small nail holding it shut. The leaves seem to stay up in place when pulled out. This table was new in 1940 or right before or after. The enamel top. It is enamel on some type of metal, I believe, is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. The table edge is blue with a white top disected with a diamond pattern of blue lines. I have not seen any chips. There are some black rub marks, but I know that they can be cleaned off because I have cleaned some of them. this piece could easily be restored or the bottom ... morecould be replaced with a wonderful forties enamel top. Very Rare Antique Master Carpenter’s Bench w 2 Vices Circa Early 1900's Compare with others that have sold on Ebay for $3.000+ You will never find one like this ever again. Great Original Condition. We recently acquired this find at an Estate sale of a master word working craftsman in Chicago. Illinois Here we have a beautifully rugged relic of days gone by that stopped us in our tracks at a recent auction…a hardwood Master Carpenter’s workbench. Circa early 1930’s. The patina is absolutely amazing. This hasn't been made to look aged or distressed. The gentleman who owned this bench would have been over 100 years old, if he were with us today. He was a master craftsman who created many of the hand made clocks and cabinets in their simple home beginning in the early 1930’s, and we could only imagine how many hours he must have spent ... moreworking away at this very bench. This authentic vintage carpenter’s bench bears all of the patina and markings of its age and purpose. You’ll find both deep and superficial cuts, grooves, and wear marks… small paint splatters, a few small burn marks and more… each helping to tell the story of its history. There are two vices at the front of the bench in perfect working order. We found this antique bench to be neat, orderly, and lovingly maintained in the basement workshop of the home. We’ve taken care not to change a thing, simply giving it a linseed oil treatment to bring out its beautiful tone and texture. We think the look and size of this beautiful bench would make a great sofa table. Kitchen island, hall table, or even a workbench once again for today’s craftsman.
