late 1920s viner tea coffee set and tray- this is the non bakelite handle set made prior to the 1930s- the name viner indicates it was made post 1925( when viner changed name from viener) Presentation set- each item is endorsed with the makers name and confirmed silver plate- very ornate and in beautifully preserved condition- claw feet and flame handles. The tray is 18 inches long with double fretwork one inch side tall edging finished in patterned overlay- the base is heavily pattern engraved with flowers and plumes. Large 32" Antique Mahogany Hammered Brass Folding Coffee Tea Tray Table Detailed Offered here is a simply beautiful tray top table. It features a high quality hand etched hammered brass tray top. The top is incredible and features a rider mounted on a horse fighting what looks to be a dragon. It features many smaller pannels with animals carved in them. It is a very nice piece featuring some incredible hand work on the tray top. The top sits on a hand carved base that is made from one piece of wood. The base is pierced carved and interconnected. It is made from what looks to be mahogany. The table stands 19 inches high from the ground and it has a 1 inch rim on the top that brings the height to 20 inches. I would guess that this piece was made in India or Turkey. It features some of the best art work I have seen with a great deal of ... moredetail. Also. The table is quite large. Antique Tea Cart with removable glass tray, nice old family piece
Here is a very nice antique tea cart(trolly) Purchased by my great-great aunt in Minneapolis many years ago. It has been in the family ever since- sad to see it go after this many generations. The inlay work is quite nice all along the top, the edges of the tray(see picture 5) along the legs, and even the wheel spokes and rims. It was taken outside only for the photos. I have seen one listed that is EXTREMELY similar. And that one is described as a 19th century English piece. I have no idea in what country my cart may have been made, nor when, nor what style this represents. There is no maker label. A Google search for"antique tea cart" is not all that helpful given the quantity of these made. I would appreciate any info anyone might have and would be happy to post questions and answers. CONDITION: Generally very good and solid. ... moreAs mentioned above. There are scuffs on the cart, some on the wheels and some along the edged- see photos. The wheel hardware is all present and I suspect is original. There was a repair made to the bottom that is not visible from the top(picture 7) it is a solid fix. The final two pictures show the scratch on the top of the cart, which would of course be below the glass tray. The scratch is not deep, just long. The outer lower edge of the front right leg is more scuffed than the others. Many of the points where wood is connected show evidence of very old glue- I cannot tell if it is the original construction or a later rebuilding. There is a slight gap between one of the legs and the bottom panel only noticeably when you look very closely(as I just did to make sure my description was as accurate as possible) The cart definitely feels solid despite any repairs. One of the wooden strips that are tacked into the bottom of the tray(and serve to hold the glass in place) is slightly loose and might require larger tacks to firm it up, but I am not going to attempt any repairs. This is an antique Estate drop leaf ribbon mahogany side table that can convert to a sweet tea table by raising the leaves. Brown leather 3 section top with gilt tooling around the edges. Fluted legs rise to elegant lyre shaped frame on each side of the table Looking at the base construction the ribbon mahogany wood can be easily seen as well as the brass hinges. When the leaves are raised the table swivels into place and locks similar to the antique games tables. Antique Imperial Style Mahogany Tea Cart 1930s
Up for bid is an Antique Imperial Style Mahogany Tea Cart from the 1930s. It is in good condition for it's age but does show signs of surface wear and use which can bee seen in pictures. The only other condition issue is that one of the large wheels is loose and a little unstable due to the spokes not being tight enough. The cart still rolls fine but getting that repaired would be a good idea. It has the Imperial Logo in the drawer. Without the folding leaves up it measures 28" long. 18" wide, and 28" tall. With the leaves up it measures 39" wide. It has a handle for pushing that folds down, a glass shelf insert that moves in and out, and a bottom wooden shelf. The wood is carved and held together nicely. One of the smaller wheels does detach when lifted up but could be glued if desired. Original cast iron casters(see pictures) Original screws, and original wheel mechanisms. NOTHING on this piece has been refurbished or replaced. We are pleased to offer this incredible. Hand crafted primitive, antique, wine/tea cart or table. This beautiful cart is very old and dates to the early 1900s. The cart is solid carved wood and features 12 old, hand made tiles from Portugal on the top tier. The wood features hand notched or carved patterns in deep relief. The wheels are solid wood and formed using 4 sections of curved wood. The cart has an ornate, raised handle bar support on each side. There are turned wood spokes on the wheels, around the top tier, and on the handle. The bottom tier features a recessed shelf with wood border. The cart is finished in an old, antiqued white which incorporates an antiqued glazing process. Teal(greenish gray blue) painted accents highlight this beautiful cart. The cart has 2 large back wheels with a fixed front center leg support. The old tiles ... moreare used to create a nautical theme and come together to form a large sailing vessel. The colors are beautiful. The tiles are signed"Rustica Portugal" There are 3 bottle holders located on the upper tier just in front of the handle. This is a beautiful, OLD and rare cart! The cart is in very good condition. There are some"chippy" areas of paint. The tiles have imperfections from the glazing process(not uncommon for their age) There is a tiny. Hairline surface crack in the signed tile. It does not penetrate the tile body and is not distracting. The wheels are wood and somewhat primitive so the cart has a"bumpy" feel to it when you push it. The wheels turn freely, it is just the hand crafted and primitive nature of their design. The wheel hubs are nailed on the cart so they do not come off and the cart will not break down for shipping. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL. RARE, antique, drop leaf tea cart table. This is a true work of art and dates to the late Art Deco period(early 1940s) of the 20th century. Though not marked, the cart has definite French Chinoiserie or Asian characteristics. The cart is wood with a black painted(not lacquered) finish. It has two tiers with the bottom tier perfect for storage. The front end of the cart has wheeled casters which are brass plated and a wood/composite combination. The back of the cart has large, wood spoke wheels. The cart has a turned wood, raised handle. The top tier has both a front and back drawer with Chinoiserie pulls. THE TABLE TOP SECTION OF THE CART IS SPECTACULAR! It features a recessed, white, Carrera Marble top with black and gray veins. The marble is adorned with carved, textural marble, jade and coral appliques. ... moreThe pieces come together to form a beautiful landscape art work. The focal point is a large, jade peacock. The bird is detailed with incised carvings of the feathers. Glass beads adorn and accent the tail section. The peacock has fine, delicate legs and feet, as well as plume and 3 raised feathers, also accomplished in jade. The feet attach to the large rock, upon which the bird stands. The rock is a carved/chiseled piece of marble or granite which is green with large, white veins. Above the peacock, we see a large branch of an orange blossom tree. The branch is jade. The tree is in bloom with delicately carved coral pieces providing the flowers of the blooms. There is a glass piece which fits over the recessed marble section to both protect it and to allow the top of the cart to be functional. This is a beautiful piece. It has been skillfully, hand produced and is truly one of a kind. The cart has been well preserved and is in very good antique condition. I bought this lovely table here in Williamsburg from a woman whose mother was English and who had brought this table to the US with her when she emigrated. the pictures just don't do it justice. And the size is wonderful- when leaves are down, the table is only 10" wide, when leaves are up the table dimensions are 41" x 25" Table height is 30 inches. The oval is a wonderfully elongated- an unusual shape. It is really a lovely table. One of the reasons I bought this table is its size- it can tuck away anywhere. Antique Imperial Tea Cart Antique tea cart made by Imperial Furniture Company from Grand rapids Michigan. Imperial opened in 1903 and closed in 1954 at the death of the company owner. Some discoloration on the top which may clean up. I just wiped the heavy dust off of the cart and took the pictures. I believe a little elbow grease will make this cart spectacular. The serving tray appears to have been stripped for refinishing and the glass is sound and no cracks. The wheels are in good condition with no major damage.
