Antique Cast Iron& Wood 14 Fishing Pole Hardware Store Display Stand Rack Up for sale is this Antique Cast Iron& Wood 14 Fishing Pole Hardware Store Display Stand or rack. This was purchased at the estate sale of a 103 year old woman whose family had owned a hardware store since the late 1800s. This was used in their store. The black metal parts have a heavy black japanned finish. I don't know what type of wood was used to make this but the curved wood part on top has a bird's eye grain. The wood part on top has a groove for the rubber ring with 14 pairs of loops for the fishing pole tops. There are 14 corresponding round recessed spots in the bottom piece of wood for the base of the fishing rods. Unusual must have display rack for the antique fishing rod and reel collector! Condition: It is all original and is in very good ... morecondition with all original parts intact. No cracks or chips in the metal and most of the original japanning is intact.some rubs and oxidation from use but they are pretty minor. Measurements: 33" tall overall. The bottom measures 11" in diameter and the top measures about 6 3/4" in diameter. The rack is easily unscrewed from the heavy cast iron base so I might ship the base separately if it will reduce shipping costs. Markings: None I have many other great items up for auction. Up for auction is a wonderful. Antique, primitive, wrought iron, hanging game/herb rack. The top portion measures 10 inches high and 12 1/8 inches across. Each of the 8 hooks measures 7 inches long. This is a beautiful collection old antique curtain rods that can double purpose as sign holders if you like. My 101 year old grandmother just past and these were found in here attic. I am not sure of the age but they appear to be in nice condition with a very nice patina. Each unit comes with 6-7 rings on them. So up first is this antique victorian era cast iron chandelier/ceiling hook with matching rosette/bracket/plate. The entire hook measures about 5 3/8" long and the hook section itself is about 2 9/16" long. The rosette/plate is about 2 7/16" in diameter at the diagnol. Both parts are in excellent shape with some typical light wear and oxidation. As pictured. I see no damage so this hook is ready to mount. There is a sligth bend in the screw section that you can sort of see in the last picture but this will have no functional or structural effect. The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. The pictures speak for themselves. I admit that I know little about this old STIMSON Wall Mount Scale Bracket. And that's after having it for several years. Moving it& tripping over it a half a dozen times. In my internet research I could only find 1 more like it. It was complete, dated 1928& was called a Meat Hook Scale. I had intentions too make a tool rack for my log furniture tools but that is probably not going to happen. I cannot say the two pieces go together but they were together when I bought them. The total length of the steel pipe is 29 1/2" and the cast iron wall mount is 21" and weights 31 lbs 12 oz. The scale bar? is brass& 28 1/4" long. It weights 7 lbs 9 oz. They weight 40 lbs total. Here for your consideration is this neat old advertising wall mount trouser hanger for the collector or decorator. The wall mount on this is made of cast iron it has two mounting holes. It looks to be copper plated and it has the advertising from Globe Electro Plating Co. in Philadelphia, Pa the rods where you slide the pants on look to be made of chrome or nickel plated steel, the rods measure about 9 inches long. This is in good condition for its age I have cleaned some light surface rust off the rods and it displays nicely. Please look at the pictures and email with any questions.
