Antique H. W. Hayden's Pat. 1851 Spun Brass Small Pail By Ansonia Brass Co.
8 1/2 inch opening. 9 1/2 inch wide from handle to handle, 5 3/4 inches tall up to rim and 10 1/4 inches with handle extended. Has alot of dents throughout with inside rust and rim has been unraved with slits as photos shows. Lots of pytina which sudjusts that it is close to the pat date. Marked on the bottom of pail with maker name shown in 5th photo. The metal is thin and light and was used for the kitchen. This piece is a great decorative piece with lots of wearing and not for use. One Pair of VINTAGE Brass CONQUISTADOR STIRRUPS w. Great Seal of BRAZIL
We are offering for your consideration these matching brass conquistador styled stirrups. We know that the prior owner was a US diplomat living in Brazil many years ago and were told these came from there. The tops of the stirrup have been carved with the Great Seal of Brazil or at least a facsimile of that logo. Manufacturer: Unknown Place of Manufacture: South America Size: 11 ½” long. 4 1/8” wide, and 4 5/8” tall. Condition: One corner of the“sole” of one of the stirrups had been broken off. It was soldered back in place and the original drainage port on the same stirrup was soldered over to turn into a wall vase. See the photos for more detail of condition. This Auction is for a pair of Authentic Antique early 20th century cast iron Bookends. in incredible shape and such a neat form! They have a depiction of two hound dogs standing on point. These cast iron Bookends are in perfect condition with their original surface and no restorations. The shipping will just be awful on these from Canada. Matching pair of 1950's hand engraved brass vases from Japan. These were purchased by my father during the Korean war. They are about 5 inches tall. They have a hand engraved traditional design showing a mountain scene(possibly Mt. Fuji) temple and boat. The images are mirrors of each other making for a matching set. VINTAGE Monkeys on Bicycle Lighter - Cigar - Tobacciana - Steampunk
SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERY DAY! A finely-crafted and extremely memorable piece for the den. Desk, or gentleman's lounge This is a cigarette or cigar lighter. In the shape of two monkeys riding an old-fashioned bicycle. It is made of some relatively heavy metal, and I am not sure what kind it is. I'm pretty sure it is NOT iron, as it does not seem heavy enough. It could be copper or brass. Apparently the lighter fluid goes in the rear end of the monkey in back. And the flame comes out of the mouth of the monkey in front. You actuate the lighter by pulling back on the head of the rear monkey. I HAVE NOT TESTED IT WITH LIGHTER FLUID AND DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS A FUNCTIONAL LIGHTER OR NOT. As hard as I have tried. I cannot find another example of this item through any number of search keyword combinations, so I am led to believe it ... moreis rather rare. However, there seems to be a possibility that it was made by Ronson, as I have come across a number of antique"monkey" lighters made by this firm, which made a great variety of lighters and smoking accessories. However, the Ronson monkey-shaped lighters look nothing like this one, and are nowhere near as detailed, so the Ronson theory is only a theory. The base is four inches long and two-and-a-quarter inches wide. The piece is about four-and-three-quarters tall. Including the base. The bicycle portion can detach from the base, as seen in one of the photos. I put the starting bid at what I think the piece is worth. No reserve. Pay with Paypal. Antique Yugoslavian Repousse Copper Art. Traditional Woman & Folk Dancers.
These two copper repousse pieces are from Yugoslavia and are from the mid-20th century. They came from the estate of American historian. And Antioch College professor, Irwin Abrams(1914-2010) who traveled extensively. Abrams, a Quaker and World War Two conscientious objector, was known as perhaps the foremost authority on the Nobel Peace Prize. Including the frames, the folk dancers measures about 16" by 11" and the woman measures about 10" by 6" The writing below the folk dancers is"Narodne Igre Jugoslavia. The burlap fabric backing is worn and discolored. The frame of the traditional woman is loose. Still, they are fine pieces and remind me of a traditional, almost medieval, way of European life.

End of the Trail" After the James Earle Fraser 1915 life-size sculpture of a sorrowful Native American Indian on horseback, made circa 1928 by the Galvano Bronze Company, a pair of vintage electroformed bronze-clad figural bookends, beautiful dark-chocolate patina, this has not been cleaned, great patina still intact. Both are marked"P. Beneduce" For Paul Beneduce, the artist who created many great pieces for Galvano. Both pieces signed one harder to read. The flash makes these look a little brighter than they are dark pieces and a very rare item to be seen on ebay. I prefer only Priority mail so we both can track and you get it quickly. This is a very nice pot in fantastic shape! It has the name. Mrs. Rose Shink, embeded on the underside of the handle. Measures 13 inches long to the tip of the handle. Handle itself is 7 inches long. Gorgeous vintage hand-crafted English footed copper pot. There are lions heads on each side with ring-handles in their mouths. There are 3 lions feet at the base. The brads at the seams of the piece and holding the lion heads in place jut out ornamentally on the exterior. And on the interior the brads are flat and flush with the surface. This is just a wonderful piece with lovely detailing. This pot could serve multiple purposes: You could use it as a wine cooler, as an ornate ... morewaste paper basket for your desk, or as a fancy planter. This item measures 7-3/4 inches high. It measures 7-7/8 inches across the top. The opening size is 7-3/8 inches. The bottom of the pot measures 5-7/8 inches across. The widest measurement from the tip of one lions claw to another is 7-1/4 inches. This pot weighs 443.7 grams. On the bottom of the pot it says impressed into the copper MADE IN ENGLAND and HANDMADE. There is glue remainder from an old label that is no longer present. There is also a gold foil label from the shop that sold the piece when it was new, that was Braukmans in Denver Colorado. I looked Braukmans up on the Internet and from what I could glean they closed many years ago. This pot is in overall very nice vintage condition. There is some minor age-appropriate scuffing and some small, light water stains, just the normal light wear that you would expect for an old piece of this type. There is one spot of verdigris above one of the lions paws, and it is not easily noticeable since it is so close to the bottom of the piece. The overall condition of the metal is very good. 14th 15th CENTURY Unusual EUROPEAN One-of-a-Kind BRASS INK WELL - Black PATINA
For sale is an item you'll never see again. It's a 14th or 15th Century Brass Ink Well. The patina on it makes it look black. The pictures make it look a little lighter than it really is. I've done a lot of research on this trying to get more information on it at no avail. It originally belonged to my grandfather who was born and raised in Vienna. Austria. He was a collector of many fine things and this was one of his treasures. All he knew about it was that it was made in the 14th or 15th Century. I tried forever to get more information. I decided that since it originated in Europe that I should try to get some information from somewhere other than the US. I sent an email with pictures to the Victoria and Albert Museum in the UK asking if they could help me. I finally got an email back. I copied it below. It is always difficult to date objects from photographs. But looking at the images which you have sent, our feeling is that your object was possibly made in the 19th century but in the Renaissance style. There was a resurgence of interest in Renaissance art in this period and objects were made to suit the new taste. If you wanted to take up your enquiry with an American museum. Antique decorative Metalware Iron Compote Emig Sea Gods
Very decorative. Very detailed Iron Art, I guess I'ld call it a compote. Not sure of age, but my estimate is turn of the century. Has fantastical scenes of men and women(the gods? riding sea animals or holding tridents. Very heavy piece. In excellent condition, no dents or broken iron work. There are some rub marks in the finish and one small area where something splashed and stained the finish. Stamped Iron Art on bottom. Measures 3.5" tall by 8.5" wide. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. 3 DAY AUCTION! This is a fabulous antique cobalt blue spatteware bowl. I didn't think it was old when I first saw it at a local estate sale. But as soon as I picked it up, I could tell by the weight that it was an old one. Most of these pieces you see are lightweight repros, but this one is heavy, feeling real good in your hand as soon as you pick it up. All of the pieces in this estate sale were in fine condition.
