The story of Georg Jensen Inc. USA begins in Denmark with Frederik Lunning. An intriguing character and an art and book dealer who also sold Jensen pieces. He was to become the esteemed director of Jensen's U.S. operation. Jensen managing directors P. Pedersen and T. Moller first hired Lunning in 1920 to arrange silver exhibitions. This turned out to be the firm's most successful year. With foreign art critics praising Jensen craftsmanship. But in 1921, grave economic crises in Europe forced massive order cancellations. The Copenhagen factory found itself suddenly overstocked; new foreign markets were urgently needed to keep the company in business. RARE ANTIQUE FOOTED PEWTER TEAPOT ORIENTAL FIGURAL FINIAL C.1840 BIRM J DIXON
This exotic teapot has 8 curved panels to the body and lid. Decorated with repousse scrollwork. It sits on four acanthus leaf feet. And the handle also has an acanthus leaf motif, with two intact bone or horn insulators. The rare finial is a three dimensional gesturing Mongolian figure. Sitting cross-legged side-saddle, complete with headgear. His shirt. Possibly mail, is decorated with raised crosses. The detail is fabulous. To the underside is the maker’s mark“JAMES DIXON& SONS” used from 1835 to 1851. As well as some numbers whose significance is lost on us. Please see photos. The teapot stands 7” tall to top of finial and is 9 ¼” from the octagonal spout to handle. It is in very good used antique condition. With a couple of small indents around two of the feet, which may be part of the manufacturing process. The finial is loose ... moreand wobbles. We believe that it can be easily repaired. We are not pewter experts. Though we like it very much and buy it when we can. This piece is one of four that we acquired at an estate sale. We will be listing all four. This pewter is of the highest quality and workmanship we have ever seen. With a seemingly unique and definitely intriguing design. We are always on the lookout for fine old pewter. And list it when we find it. We gladly combine shipping. Please consider adding us to your“Favorites” As we do try to offer the unusual when available. Please see“Seller’s Other Items” and other pewter items in our store. We are sorry that some of our customers do not give“Tricia-Marne" a“5 Star” rating for shipping costs and time. Canada Post is slower and more costly than US. And we charge at cost, no handling fees. If for any reason you feel any dissatisfaction with shipping costs we have charged you. Please contact us before rating us. A“5 Star” rating across the board is very important to us! OVERSEAS BIDDERS. PLEASE CONTACT US RE SHIPPING BEFORE BIDDING.

Early American Reed and Barton Pewter Teapot Birdspout Handle Circa 1835-1836
Up for auction an early American pewter teapot unusual shape. With birds spout and wood handle. Marked 1505 Reed and Barton 5. I contacted the folks at Reed and Barton and they said.it is from 1835-1836 and its a lead free teapot. The teapot has some wear and tear and would make a nice decorative piece in a country kitchen or sitting on top of a fireplace mantle. The wood top is cracked and the screw underneath is loose. I have provided some closeups. It may have taken a finial? The handle is slightly loose from years of use and a few small areas of paint loss which can easily be touched up. On the top inside handle there is a small area where a little wood is missing. The lid to the body does not seat perfectly and perhaps. Due to heat expansion. It does not appear,to be out of round. The body is structurally sound. No cracks. No hairlines,No ... moreholes. A few small dings, some scratches and a few areas where there is a circular depression to the metal a little more pronounced approx. 1/3/8" across the other hardly noticeable. The tea pot has not been polished or cleaned so as to retain its original patina. Stands 8/3/8" in height to its wood top. Please. Note I accept pay pal as a method of payment at this time. Insurance is required in this auction. I plan to ship usps and Please. Do not check out until I get an actual shipping cost and I will invoice you. Thank you and best of luck to all.

We are ALWAYS honest. Fair& reasonable. NO ONE DESERVES UNKINDNESS-EVER! You will ALWAYS be treated with KINDNESS, RESPECT and APPRECIATION here! Thank you for reading. Item Description Here we have a VERY RARE FIND! This GORGEOUS antique teapot is made of copper and pewter. The ornate scroll work around the rim of the pot. The spout, the very ornate handle and the lid finial are all made of pewter. There are several unique features about this piece. The lid is solid copper and is hinged to the pot. The hinge is tight and secure and ensures the pot closes every time. When opened, the lid finial rests on the uppermost part of the handle where it permits ... moreeasy filling. Another unique feature is the spout has a hinged cover as well. It is equally secure and remains closed as pot is sitting and when pouring the flow of liquid opens the spout cover. The pewter scroll work is magnificent on this piece. The inside of the pot is tin lined and the lining is in excellent condition. The pot holds 5 cups-probably six but for ease and handling 5 cups would be safest. The most unique information about this particular find is the Maker Marking on the bottom of the pot. It is marked: SOVEREIGN G. I. Mix& Co. 3 The G. I. Mix& Co. manufactured tools primarily and was located in Yalesville. Connecticut. They are documented to be in business from ca. 1860- ca. 1903. They have at least 3 patents on record for manufacturing spoons. In 1868, he was elected to the Connecticut State Senate. He died in 1892 in New Haven. The company continued but failed a decade later. This dates this piece to be somewhere between 110- 150 years old! For its age it is in VERY FINE condition. There are some dings and a couple of very minor dents visable, with most all on the bottom. As the pot is manufactured in pieces and soldered together, I am guessing that

The teapot is in very good condition for its age. But does have scratches, discoloring and the wood handle is split and screwed together(please view all photos very carefully) I don' t know if the handle was manufactured this way or if it was repaired.
