MARION BRONZE VINTAGE SNOW OWLS ART STATUES BOOKENDS SCULPTURED PAINTED
You are looking at a pair of extremely nice and rare Art Deco Bookends from the very early 1920's. This is a pair that is highly regarded amongst collectors and is one of the finest made by the Marion Bronze Company. These are listed in Kuritzky's Bookend reference guide as being made by the Pompeian Bronze Company. Which is true, but they were also produced in 1922 by the Marion Bronze Company- about half a decade prior to the Pompeian variation. What is especially nice about this pair is that it is one of the few original Marion Bronze sets that was recreated by the same company some 30 years later under new ownership. It is easy to distinguish the"old" Marion Bronze pieces from the later pieces by the absence of the"MB" mark; the early 1920-30s pieces did not bear this marking. What is also nice about this pair ... moreis that. Even though these are the oldest, they have been well cared for with only some minor wear indicative of age. Both pieces are splendid and in wonderful condition! The cold painted, bronze clad bodies are smooth and intact all around, and the details are very much lifelike and alive. The feathers are quite large and pronounced, with their lines and curves and original paint. Even the eyes, beaks, and talons were not forgotten and were given equal attention to detail. One owl has some small paint chipping on one brow feathers and there are a few tiny chips but overall this pair are in very nice condition! These beauties are guaranteed to be both genuine deco pieces. The wise birds stand at 8 ½" Tall. 3 ¼" Wide, and 3 ½" Long. You won't find them listed in Kuritzky's Bookend Reference Guide- aside from the Pompeian version mentioned above- but they can be found in the very early Marion Bronze Sales Catalogues. For sale in this auction is a very fine American pewter coffee pot with pewter handle and knob. Which measures eight inches tall by ten inches from spout to handle by four inches across the base, and which bears the mark"Putnam" Little is known about Mr. Putnam, except that he worked in the second quarter of the nineteenth century in New England. The condition of this teapot is very good. Including the solidly attached handle, knob and lid, and the patina is dark and very smooth and consistent throughout. There are few signs of damage or wear and no repairs. The inside is very clean. A fabulous antique American pewter teapot at a very affordable opening bid. Antique 19th C. American Pewter Ladle Wooden Handle
For your consideration. A nice antique American 19th C wooden handled pewter ladle. It is 15" long in total. The wooden handle is 8.5" The handle has an excellent patina, with no breaks or chips. Not certain of the wood, perhaps chestnut or other native hardwood. The bowl of the ladle is 3.75 diameter and about 1.5" deep. Nice turnings on the handle with a small button finial at the end. It is a simple classic American style. The bowl has some pitting(please view all photos) but overall nice condition.There is the tiniest amount of'play' in the handle, between the wood and pewter but by no means is it loose.it just needs to be mentioned.It has been this way for years and hasn't changed. 18th c. English or American Steel Sugar Nippers
These sugar nippers were made of forged steel and were used to nip sugar from crystalized cones of white sugar which were usually wrapped in blue paper. By the middle of the 19th c. Sir Henry Tate had invented the sugar cube and nippers like these were no longer necessary. These nippers were purchased from a family that has a lineage that goes back to the 18th c. in America so I think there is a possibility that they were made in this country. They are in beautiful condition with a scribed bulls eye decoration at the pivot point and a wonderfully functioning sliding spring set in the handle. They have a great old patina and are in fabulous condition. The nippers are 9.5" long and 2 7/8th" at their widest point and weigh 9 ounces.

Extremely rare. Huge, heavy, signed, high quality pair of antique bookends featuring a bull charging. This set was made by Kathodian Bronze Works. Circa 1918. The bull has his head twisted to the side and appears to be ready to charge forward. Each bookend stands 6" tall, 9" long, 4 3/4" wide and weighs 4 lbs. 10 oz. 9 lbs. 4 oz. for the pair) They are in very good condition. Authenticity is assured as both are incised with the artist's name: DEAN, KBW, and, ART BRONZ. Kathodian Bronze Works was one of just a handful of companies who produced metal arts using the process known as bronze-clad which created very high quality pieces primarily in the early part of the 20th century. This is a lovely. Very old, ANTIQUE BRASS PAIL/ FARM MILK BUCKET#11/ 11" DIAMETER. MADE IN MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT. Pail measures 11" across(diameter opening) and 7-1/2" high. Bottom measures 8" across. The number"11" is stamped on the metal piece affixed to each sides through which the handle is looped. Pail has a great patina. Although there is slight evidence of it having been polished long ago. It has many use marks, some scratches, scuffs, corrosion marks, slight scraps, dings. discolorations, and minor dents. It has one crack/split- which obviously had been repaired/soldered long ago, but has reopened. A great antique primitive piece, despite- or perhaps because of- all its age/use related infirmities. Rolled top rim. Swing handle. Maker's name is stamped on bottom. But unfortunately entire name is not ... morereadable(at least to my eye) The only clearly readable letters are"Meriden, Conn. Beautiful and strange Art Nouveau antique pewter tray or card receiver from Hannover. Germany adorned with an image of a young woman blowing bubbles and a small view of Hannover. Not sure of an exact date of origin, but I would imagine this dates from the late 19th/early 20th Century. The tray is in amazing shape with only minor signs of wear. It measures approximately 6" x 6" An interesting design, not sure of the significance but I've never seen anything else like it. It has not been polished FL-107.
