Antique Pewter Spoons (2) 19th Century - Ornate, Soldered, Pressed Royalty
Pair of antique decorative spoons are a bit of a puzzle. Very ornate these spoons are believed to be 19th century. The pewter is pressed. With the handles in the shapes of what appears to be English royalty, a man and a woman, and they bear a striking resemblance to King George III and his Queen Charlotte, but I have not been able to verify this through research. I have found none other like them. There are no crests or similar markings on the back of the bowl on the spoon, but there are a pair of initials as follows: A- K- and there is the number 1750 below the initials. From what I have found, the initials could possibly be the pewterer's mark, but more than likely are the initials of the owners. The number 1750 does not appear to be a date, but probably a catalog number or the like. The handles are soldered to the spoons. The pressed ... morespoons appear to be identical, so they were probably machined and not hand crafted. Spoons are 7 1/2" from top to bottom, and the spoon size is approximately that of a modern day serving spoon. These were inherited, but did not come with the information on origin. These will be insured for shipping. There have been two(2) verbal appraisals obtained on these, one in 1982, when they were valued at $75.00 apiece, and one in 2002, where they were valued at $150.00 apiece.

Large antique handwrought antique pewter coffee pot American? 18/19th century
Description: Beautiful large handwrought pewter coffee pot with a handle that terminates in a heart at the bottom. Great flowing design. Substantial and well made. Appears to be handwrought, but I am not an expert. Not marked as to maker or country of origin. I always assumed this was late 19th century, along the lines of the Arts and Crafts and turn of the century English designers, but I saw a very similar one in a period film set in the Georgian period, so perhaps it's earlier. I am sure someone on ebay knows. Most of my items are vintage or antique and may have normal wear commensurate with age. Use and materials. I will mention any damage or flaws I see. Please review the pictures; they are an important part of the description. Please email me if you have any questions. Payment: Payment is due within 3 days of auction’s end. Paypal ... moreonly. Shipping: US shipping via USPS standard post due to weight; includes tracking/delivery confirmation. I ship within 3 business days(usually within a day) after payment is received. Please remember that I cannot control the transit time after the package is delivered to the post office. International shipping(Europe and Japan) please contact me for costs. Shipping to Canada is somewhat less. So please wait for me to send an invoice before paying. Any customs fees, duties or taxes that may be imposed by the recipient country are not in my control and are the responsibility of the buyer. Returns: Please contact me before leaving feedback if there are any problems. I accept returns on most items. But ask that you email me on receipt or within a few days of delivery. PLEASE NOTE: I do not issue partial refunds(damage or otherwise) Thank you!

Silver and Brass will develop a patina with age that is often deliberately left untouched on antique objects. We have deliberately oxidized our objects before polishing them so as to provide contrast and enhance the detail. Also to give them a faux"antique" look. In mediaeval days. Pewter was often coated with beeswax to keep it shiny. We do not recommend using abrasive compounds such as"Silvo" or"Brasso" to shine pewter, as these cleaners contain acid and will reduce the detail. Also the acid in ... morethem will cause a reaction with the metal. Rather you should use soap and water, then a gentle rub with a soft cloth will restore the shine. If you are really worried about the appearance, Turpentine works wonders when applied with a soft cloth. Pewter items were around in Ancient Rome and Egypt: as broken items were always recycled. Not many objects have survived to come down to us. In Mediaeval days, pewter was a luxury item. Pewter- In the Tudor and Stuart periods pewter continued its' popularity. Pewter's"golden age" was 1650 to 1720. In this period styles found their most perfect forms. The 18th century saw pewter's popularity decline. People wanted a lighter and prettier material. A much less heavy form of pewter was invented in Sheffield. This was called Britannia metal which became popular in the last quarter of the 18th century and was still popular well into the Victorian period. But the long march of porcelain was irresistible. Pretty. Dainty porcelain was in vogue and pewter became banished to the taverns. It was still being used in British pubs as late as the 1930's. Pewter was much used in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods and is still b

Large Antique Pewter Basin early 19th century
Large Antique Pewter Basin early 19th century, Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album* Read the entire ad. Ask all questions up front. Buy carefully and don't assume facts not in evidence Shipping things back and forth on a whim is risky and wasteful. SIZE 12 1/2 inches diameter. DESCRIPTION Large charger size Pewter Basin. Very decorative and useful size. No touch marks on bottom; though there is an owner's impression on the rim. I can make out a crown and that suggests English origin. CONDITION Excellent Condition. No apologies. SHIPPING $15(includes insurance) for UPS ground service lower 48. We will combine shipping whenever possible for multiple items. FINE PRINT Selling ancient things on Ebay is hard. Anything that is genuinely old will have condition issues. We do our best on these descriptions. ... moreI have no stomach for gamesmanship or trickery and my integrity is not worth a few measly dollars. So all items are guaranteed for age and accuracy of description. But I can't guarantee you will love what you buy or be happy with the price. Please read the entire ad. Especially the condition report. Bid with knowledge and don't make assumptions not in evidence. It is a waste of time and money to ship and reship old things back and forth across America. All items are photographed in indirect natural light to give the best approximation of"reality. But understand that"color" is a subjective reified reality highly dependent on quality of light and intensity. All auction items are offered without reserve and sold as-is. ALL AUCTION SALES ARE FINAL unless I have erred regarding age. Authenticity, or description of defects. I promise never to complain if a non-reserve item brings less than market value. Bidders in unreserved auctions are also expected not to kvetch about price. Please do not attempt to extort a lower sale

Antique Pewter Teapot Roswell Gleason Rare Collectible 19th Century
Roswell Gleason Teapot Hallmarked on bottom as follows: 5 Roswell Gleason 4200 Approximate Measurements: 9 3/4" Tall to top of Handle 10" Tall to top of Finial 10 1/4" Spout to Handle Edge 4 1/4" Across Base 2 Pounds 5 Ounces There is also the number 250 on the base. I am not an expert and don't know what this means. I do think that the material is pewter. I did contact a pewter expert and was told that this teapot dates back to the 1800s. The teapot is in very good condition for its age. But does have scratches, discoloring and the wood handle is split and screwed together(please view all photos very carefully) I don' t know if the handle was manufactured this way or if it was repaired. I was also told that the wood on the finial on the top of the lid is missing. g.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bjw%60hquvg%3Eg-14bfee2cb53-0x105-

Antique Leonard Reed&Barton LARGE Pewter Tea Pot Coffee Early 19th Century OLD
Antique Leonard Reed&Barton LARGE Pewter Tea Pot Coffee Early 19th Century OLD Dixon pattern"Brittania" and dates from about 1830- really a lovely piece in size/form/patina I think this is a rare pot as I can't seem to find any like it. Measures 12.5" tall You should know: Ebay is not just a hobby for me. It is how I support my family and I take my work and the satisfaction of my customers very seriously. I scour New England buying items at auctions. Estate sales(sometimes even yard sales) and from individuals looking to downsize. I keep some items for myself(we live in a 200 year old Colonial here in New Englan d) and I sell the rest. It's an incredibly enjoyable way to make a living and I love it! I price my items to sell as I am not a collector and I am not trying to make a killing- just trying to make a living. ... moreI know a little about a lot of different things and a lot about very few things. Each time I list an unfamiliar item I do a bit of homework and I develop a listing price. W ithout wasting a whole lot of time I get the item in the store on eBay. Many items I offer have a"make an offer" option on them as I am open to reasonable and serious offers on most everything I have in the store. Thus far all buyers of everything I have offered have been pleased with their experience here and their purchases from me. We do have a generous return policy as well so you may purchase any of my items with the utmost confidence- take a moment to review my hard-earned excellent feedback profile. It's all good here. Thank you for your consideration.
