LOWESTOFT c.1700's Blue White Oriental Sm 7.5" OVAL TUREEN NO LID STAPLE Repair
Selling what we believe to be an early Lowestoft tureen without the cover and with old stapled repaired. The first English porcelain factories were set up in the 1740s and'50s. Lowestoft was the only one in East Anglia. The factories of this first generation were trying to rival the true or'hard-paste' porcelain made in China and Japan and at Meissen in Germany Notice the lovely twisted handles. The piece measures 7.5" long and about 4" high. Still seems solid. Email us any questions. Good luck. From auctions and estates all along eastern USA.

c1780 Elinor Gordon Oriental Lowestoft Chinese Export Armorial Spoon Tray Bowl
ANTIQUE CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN SPOON TRAY- SHALLOW DISH FLETCHER COLLECTION ELINOR GORDON ORIENTAL LOWESTOFT TAG C1780 I SHIP WORLDWIDE ATTENTION UK AND NON-US BIDDERS: Please note that if you are following my sales on a regular basis you should log onto the Ebay U.S.A. site rather than the Ebay.UK site in order to see the complete selection of auction items I have listed at any given time. For some reason the Ebay U.K. site filters from view the posting of sales by U.S. sellers containing the names of some of the better and more highly collectable English and German porcelain companies. I have no idea why this is. However, I do ship worldwide so you are welcome to bid on any of the items. Offered in this sale is a wonderful 18th century Chinese Export shallow bowl of"spoon tray" It measures roughly 6 5/8" long x 5 1/4" ... morewide x 1 3/8" deep. It has an old paper label on the back that is marked SPOON TRAY FLETCHER COLLECTION STONELEIGH. WORKINGTON. It also has an old paper label on the back from Elinor Gordon a well known and respected dealer of Chinese Export porcelain which you can see illustrated in the 2nd image. I do not know much about Chinese Export porcelain, however, this piece is very finely done and appears to be quite early. The inside edge of the border is decorated with a very subtle incised basket-weave design. The quality of the painted upper rim and center border lines as well as the central portrait figure is just great. I would imagine someone more familiar with export porcelain will recognize the pattern and the central figure. I also have a cup and saucer from this same service and a collection of 70+ pieces of 18th& 19th century Chinese Export Armorial porcelain that I am listing for sale separately on Ebay over the coming days. If you are interested in more than one item I do offer combined shipping which saves on postage. The condition of the piece offered in this sale is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration. Please feel free t
