This hand knotted Persian Tabriz is made with 100% wool and is in good condition. Tabriz, located to the north-west, is Persia's second oldest city and has been at the centre of the rug-making world for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years. Most Tabriz rugs have a powerful red or blue with contrasting ivory background. Softer greens, blues and browns can be found in newer carpets to meet modern tastes and interiors. Tabriz is the host to some of the most beautiful rugs in the world and can have the price tag to match. In general the knots are fairly dense but can range anywhere between 120-850 knots per square inch (KPSI).

This hand knotted Bakhtiari is made with 100% wool and is in good condition. This rug has a short pile. The Bakhtiari tribe are one of the oldest and most famous tribes in Persia. Their villages are situated to the south-east of Isfahan and have been weaving rugs for export since the early 19th century. Based on a cotton foundation these carpets are generally crafted using the wool taken from the tribe’s own herd, therefore the quality and sheen can differ from carpet to carpet depending on the village of origin.
