Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings(1905-1976) From 1943 until 1956, Robsjohn-Gibbings was the lead designer for the Widdicomb Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan. During this time, Widdicomb was widely known for its production of stylish and well-crafted Modernist furniture. The solidity of this piece exemplifies Widdicomb's high standard in furniture-making. IT is so beautiful that if it does not sell within 2 months, I will remove it from eBay and keep it myself. There are dovetails on each drawer, front and back. Solid wood construction. I was told by Stickley furniture company, who purchased John Widdicomb furniture that it was probably made in the 1950's or 1960's and is made of Cherry wood. It has beautiful Gold inlays on the top, front, and feet. Some of the gold is worn away due to use by previous owner. You will fall in love with this piece! The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. I did clean it with some Murphy's oil soap and then gently wiped it down. Measurements: 30" wide X 24" tall X 18" deep. This is an exquisite and immaculate vintage armoire dresser in the style of the French Louis. Directoire, or Regency, by the John Widdicomb Company. It was made around 1980. Even with some age-related gentle wear the all wood piece is in great condition. The insides are pristine. One tiny splinter in a drawer edge inside. The flower outline decoration on the fronts is raised. The original. Completely hand painted, lightly textured finish features an off-white(or antique white) base color, with yellow and light blue trim.
