This is a very cool old metal step stool with steps that fold inward. Dating back to the 1940's or 1950's. The step stool is in very good condition and appears to have been re-painted many blue moons ago. It is a flat black paint with some chipping and paint splatters. It appears the top of the stool has a very old floor tile glued to it. The folding step mechanism works well, the stool is sturdy, weighing a hefty 12-1/2# It has utilitarian uses yet, or can be a new steampunk art form. Vintage Industrial Stool Although this type of stool is adjustable. Some have a double washer locking mechanism inside stand, this one is either down or locks in top position. The height is either 17- 1/2" or 26" Stool seat is 12- 3/4" diameter. The foot print is 22-3/4" square. To get it to go back to bottom position. I must turn stool upside down and grasp base and jiggle, then it slides down. I have not disassembled chair to inspect mechanism inside tube. Some of these stools have a rivet and washer at bottom of tube. This one has a nut. The stool sets level with no rocking. Three of the glides are frozen tight. One spins freely but does not adjust up and down, I have only used my hands, I have not attempted using channel locks or pliers. See pictures for detail.

From a M id S outh E state.this old vintage Industrial EQUIPTO Workshop STOOL. It stands 26" tall; seat measures 14" x 13 3/4" weighs almost 10 pounds. Constructed entirely of steel metal; each part of the stool is welded into place so there are no bolts/ nuts to loosen up. The additional 1/4" diameter steel rod brace is bolted on. It is still the original gray color. This stool came out of the'Receiving' department of a West Tennessee factory. As shown in photo#9. Very nice old drafting stool or barstool from the late 40's to mid 50's made by Goodform- General Fireproofing. Full seat and back and seat has a large height variation and the back has a tension control recliner. Also adjustments for seat back height and angle. Base is aluminum and the foot bar will adjust up and down. One of the rarer styles from good form that has been stripped to factory style with bare steel.
