1966 Statton Truetype Americana Oxford Solid Cherry Dresser Bureau Brass Pulls
This beautiful solid cherry dresser is approximately 65" wide. 20 1/8" deep, and 36" tall. It is structurally perfect and in very good condition, despite its coating of dust. Very high quality furniture, it has solid brass hardware and a warm cherry finish that may be best seen in the fourth picture above. There are a few small water rings on top that were created by a sloppy workman, but it should be possible to remove these fairly easily. This piece was part of a bedroom set that included matching Pennsylvania House bachelor's chests(listed separately) which were used as end tables. Vintage 1970s Mirrored Brass Dresser Chest 6 Drawer Mid Century Ello or Mastercraft. This is a really beautiful chest. I have seen it advertised as Mastercraft or Ello; not sure which maker it is. Definitely a great and rare piece of furniture. It measures 30 1/4" tall x 51 3/4" wide x 20 1/4" deep. This piece has a mirrored top and mirrored drawer fronts and the sides are made of brass/brass clad(sheets of brass over inner material) Interior/body appears to be wood with a white formica or lacquer surface. Good vintage condition. Several small dents in the metal and a few surface scratches(most notable on the top left side/will probably buff out a bit) Not mint but displays very nicely. There is a small spot of lost silvering on the top but overall mirrored areas looks very nice. May also be minor loss to the silvering on the ... moreedges of the mirrors on the front but these display nicely as well. There are small markings in pencil inside the drawers noting their location. Some of the metal strips on top of the drawers are loose and may need to be secured with adhesive. This auction is for the actual item(s) as pictured. Solid Cherry Statton Dresser Bureau Brass Pulls - Superior to Pennsylvania House
This beautiful Statton"Truetype Americana" Oxford-finish dresser is approximately 65" wide. 20 1/8" deep, and 36" tall. Solid cherry with solid brass hardware, it has a warm and lively finish that showcases the beautiful swirls and irregularities for which fruitwoods are loved. A very high-end manufacturer, Statton made furniture far superior to Pennsylvania House pieces that my mother also purchased in 1966. This dresser is structurally perfect and in very good condition. Despite the dust or polish that you see in some of my pictures. Picture 1 depicts the front after a less-than-perfect Murphy's Oil Soap clean-up, which resulted in some Murphy's smears that I didn't see until I had transferred the picture file to my computer(when it was too late to wipe the surface and re-photograph) Pictures 3 through ... more7 show all sections of the top surface of the dresser from left to right. There is a partial water ring near the edge of the top(picture 5) that was created by a sloppy workman. But it should be possible to remove this fairly easily. It is relatively faint, and it is actually less conspicuous than it may appear to be in the close-up shown in picture 8. There are also a few nicks here and there, as you would expect given that this furniture is almost 50 years old, but there are none that I would describe as significant. The last three pictures above show a close-up of a drawer pull and both sides of the piece. All three were taken before the dresser was cleaned. You can pick up this piece in Edgemont. This is an absolutely gorgeous dresser. I believe the wood is Cherry but take a close look. It has dustproofing between the drawers- fine craftsmanship. It has lovely original brass handles.
