I imagine they date from the early 1900's. I have left them just as I found them and as they have been for years but if required they would clean and polish further and look truly magnificent. As the photos show there is some denting and both are slightly misshapen slight bending to each. There is light denting to the one and the other has been knocked slightly harder. Nothing drastic and if positioned correctly you wouldn't be able to see it I don't think. Any damage is all commensurate with age and use. 2 Matching Antique, Metal, Two-Prong Hall/Hat Tree Hooks
These two metal hooks are a matched pair commonly found on hall trees. They are probably brass but there is no makers mark or metal identifier. They have a flowing fleur di lis type pattern through out the prongs and an elongated oval at the center of the prongs. There is a secondary smaller prong at the bottom of each prong. Each of the two hooks has a decorative round cone piece that would butt up against the wood for decorative appeal. They was originally or gold or brass coloring on the metal that is still apparent in the grooves. Overall great condition. Measuring 6 1/4" across and 5 3/4" down, depth to the back of the screw is 5 1/4" Beautiful architectural pieces.
