rusty barn hinges, hard to find 21 inch long, restoration, vintage iron
Obtained at local auction house. Many years of use. Then the wood wore out! Two hinges move, other two do not. Three pins fit into the socket, the fourth one slides in but is a couple inches too short for such a large hinge. Please see the photos. The price is for the group of 4 hinges and 4 pins and some nails. Measures 21 inches long by 2 inches wide. The three pins are 1/2 inch diameter and 4 and a quarter inches long. The pin slides into the hinge and the other part of the pin is pounded into the wood(I am guessing) One of the hinges is bent from removal. A pounding may straighten it. Perhaps some nails can be straightened, but they look rusted to me, and may break off rather than allow a new shape. Some people use them to hang birdhouses or a wind chime. At any rate.
