Description(4) vintage cast iron wall mounted brackets. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. Great old cast iron machine age bracket for hanging coats. Kitchen tools,horse harness-bridles and bits or farm tools. I guess it could have been used for hanging lots of things on the farm, in the kitchen or workshop. When mounted to a wall this extends out approximately 12 inches. It has eight indented cast places where things could hang from without sliding off. The back bracket measures approximately 10 1/8" long and 4 1/4" wide at the widest point, which is at the top of the bracket. There are no cracks or repairs on this bracket.

This old antique farm household bracket could be used for a number of things such as hanging horse bridles and bits. Hanging garden tools, brooms or? It is made of heavy and thick cast iron. Mounted to a wall this would extend out to about 11 3/4 inches. The space in between the two extending pieces, where tools or brooms could slide in, is approximately 1 1/2" The length of the rear bracket is approximately 10 inches. There are no breaks, cracks, repairs. There are some cast metal spurs, a normal bi-product of casting. This is original and straight from the farm.

I am very pleased to bring you a great pair of heavy cast iron bridal tack hooks that came right from a barn that was built in the late 1800's here in Western Pa. These hooks were specifically designed for tack and heavy tack at that as the bottom hook was molded with a curved wide part as you can put on your bridals. Harnesses and there is a rounded ball in front so it would not get caught and be easy for the on and off. These maesure 8" high in the back with a tri hole configuration and the top hook is 13" long and the bottom is 8 1/2" long with the cast being a wide 1 1/2" I am sorry.looking on here and seeing all these coat hooks is fine but this one is designed for heavy duty use. These were never painted and a lil oil and a wire brush will bring these right back and here is your green tip for the day,if you soak ... morethese in vinegar overnight, the rust will melt off and all you have to do is take a lil steel wool and they will bring back the original smoothness and luster. Each cast iron piece weighs just about 2 1/2 lbs. There are no manufacturer’s marks or dates on either bracket. They are in“as found” condition with some faint remnants of old black paint. There are no cracks. Brakes, chips or repairs in the cast iron. These brackets would look absolutely fantastic with a thick glass shelf suspended between them and would also work with lengths of vintage glass rods at different ... moreintervals. Besides reusing these salvaged pieces for decorative purposes. They could also be used for hanging lengths of looped rope, leather, or even hanging buckets and baskets. There is a very shallow crease or line on one long arm of a bracket– a minor flaw which occurred during the manufacturing process. With the bracket mounted on the wall and the row of cutouts on top. The crease mark is just after the second bump from the end and on the bottom piece of iron. The picture that shows this has the bracket with the mounting plate flat on the table and the row of cutouts on the right going straight up and down. The flaw is near the top. Each bracket is 10 7/8” along the length of the mounting plate and is 2” wide at the bottom and 3 7/8” wide at the round top. The cutout double arms reach out 12 1/8” from the mounting plate and are 1 7/8” wide on the outside. Each of the rounded cutouts are 7/8” wide. There is a pre-drilled hole at the bottom of the mounting plate and two open ended holes at the rounded top– they will accommodate a 1/4” screw. The J. L. Mott Iron Works was established by Jordan L. Mott in New York in 1828;the business was continued by his son. J.L. Mott, Jr.and eventually moved to Trenton in 1902(From Wikipedia) This harness rack dates from the 19th century as it marked N.Y. It was found in a barn in New Jersey, and other than cleaning it up a little is in its original as found condition. The rack is 11 1/2" at its widest. 7 1/2" deep and stands 7 1/4" tall. Pierced with four mounting holes- ends are capped with balls and bottom hook acts as an additional brace so that piece can hold quite a bit of weight. I purchased three of these in the 1980s from an antique show- they were black or base metal- I painted this one white so I could use it in the house- just never happened- it's been stored in the carriage house since then. The paint is now chipped and worn, with break-through surface rust from the original metal underneath. I think it would be perfect holding coats, leashes, hats, etc. on the back porch or in a mud room. There is some chipping to the black paint and the red shows through. I have seen these on Ebay and they were"made in England" but this is the American version which looks to be the exact same mold. MEASUREMENTS: It is 20" long by 11" wide and about 10.25" high. CONDITION: The iron has no cracks or missing pieces. There is very little rust.
