Antique Edwardian brass folding concertina coat rack 9 hooks
Edwardian brass expanding concertina coat rack. With 9 hooks, the struts are actually brass folded aver a steel backing, which adds considerably to its strength full of heavy coats. It is in good order strong solid and doesn't have any damage, I have left it in as found condition tarnished and not polished, it would polish up nicely but some might prefer it left. It extends comfortably to 24inches it can go further but looks best a about 2 foot, fully closed it is 13 inches tall including the hangers, this of course reduces the further it is opened. You see a lot of these made in wood with wooden pegs, this is quite rare made in brass with hooks.

These are not newer ones that were made to look old, nor are they ... moreanything like the cheap imports. These are in good condition with normal usage dings a few chips and scratches. Some still have specks of their original brass flash still remaining. Hooks would extend from wall about 2 ½ inches. They are about 3 ¼” inches in height. These all were given a light coat of oil. Then over time and use, the plating was selectively worn down to the bare iron, which has picked up that patina which exposed iron gets only after many decades, and only if kept from rusting. Pictures seem to be on a hard paper board. They are undamaged and have a nice aged patina. One has a signature but it is way too small for me to make out. Wooden frames with a metal hook and a wood ball on the hook end. Frames have some very light scuffing. Frames are 7" by 5" Total height with hook is 9 3/4" Both have a Made In Philippines sticker on back. These were owned by a couple who did a lot of cruising in the early 1970's. These were probably a souvenir from that time. They are assembled with slotted screws instead of Phillips screws so they are old. This is a great lot of 9 matching acorn tip coat hooks with screw in mounts. They have not been cleaned and are in good condition with old paint and more than a century's worth of normal wear. They measure just under 2 3/4" from the end to the end of the screw. When mounted to something. They will stick out approx. 2 1/8" from the wall/surface. I figure they are from the late 19th century. 9 VINTAGE BENT METAL WIRE COAT HAT HANGERS HOOKS !!
Taken out of an old farm house these hangers measure approx. 4" long and 2 1/2 high. The top hook extends out from the wall 3" and the small bottom extends out 1 1/4" from wall when screwed in. Wire is 1/16" thick. There is some original gold finish to some parts of them and there is some rust on them. There was a fire in the farm house and you can smell it on these hooks. Some of the screws shafts are bent as seen in pictures.
