Rosette is about 3/4 inches in Diameter These picture hanging nails were used to hang pictures during The Victorian era. The fancy head of the nail was not hidden behind the framed picture. But was exposed above the picture. The picture was hung below the nail by ribbon or decorative cord like macramé. The head unscrews from the nail. After the nail is driven in the wall the head screws back onto the nail. This is a very nice effect for hanging old family photos.
