Overall good condition, with one of them having a chip near the mounting end on the side, and one having a very slight chip to the top edge of the short mounting side. Vintage Amberina Glass Drapery Curtain Tie Backs- Beautiful! Ruby Red- Amber I am no glass expert but I believe these are a relatively uncommon find. These tie backs are just beautiful! They have ruby red and amber/yellow tones typical of amberina glass. There are no posts with them. They are in great condtion but have a few defects: 1. The one in the 3rd picture has an abrasion in the glass in the center hole where the post goes but is not cracked 2. This same tie back has 1 chip at the tip of one of the flower petals- plainly seen in pics 6-9 3. There other tie back has a chip in the center of one of the round balls that surround the center of the flower- see pics 10-12. The back sides have swirls in the glass but this is typical in the making of old glass I believe. I do my best to describe my items but I am not perfect. These tie back ... moreare in fact vintage. Not mint. They are used but still gorgeous! The defects do not detract from their beauty or functionality. Please ask questions! As I have stated- I am not a glass expert or an antique dealer- just a great estate sale and auction shopper! The floral motif is raised/embossed?I do not know how they attach to the woodwork/wall.there is a 5/8 in raised square peg? on each back.reminds me of a cufflink! Structurally, I think they are in very good condition, but there is some dark spotting on the patina.on one more than the other. I dont think there is much/any pitting however. Vintage Sandwich Amberina Glass Drapery Curtain Tie Backs- Beautiful! Ruby Red- Amber I am no glass expert but I believe these are a relatively uncommon find. These tie backs are just beautiful! They measure ~ 4 3/8" in diameter They have ruby red and amber/yellow tones typical of amberina glass. There are no posts with them. They are in great condtion but have a few defects: 1. The one in the 3rd picture has an abrasion in the glass in the center hole where the post goes but is not cracked 2. This same tie back has 1 chip at the tip of one of the flower petals- plainly seen in pics 6-9 3. There other tie back has a chip in the center of one of the round balls that surround the center of the flower- see pics 10-12. The back sides have swirls in the glass but this is typical in the making of old glass I believe. I do my best to describe ... moremy items but I am not perfect. These tie back are in fact vintage. Not mint. They are used but still gorgeous! The defects do not detract from their beauty or functionality. Please ask questions! Antique Victorian Brass Door or Window Drapery Curtain Tie Backs Holders Set #2
Antique drapery or curtain tie back brackets. These may have been for a french door or large window. The reason I say this is that they are not stationary, the hook shaped part dangles from the mount, so they would hold a large drape in a more swag type form. They are quite old and have original patina, I believe them to be brass, but please view photos carefully and judge for yourself. Some wear can be seen, both to bracket and mounts. The front decorative medallions measure approx, 2 1/2" the entire bracket from top of mount to curve in hook measures approx. 11 1/4" One is stamped on back T7 I believe. see photos) They are somewhat bent differently as can be seen in photos as well. This auction is for a nice set of four old drapery tiebacks featuring a Roman bacchanalia scene with a man in a toga playing a flute and a woman in a toga playing a tambourine. All four have the same sand colored scene. The frames are brass and the scene plates also sound tinny. So I'm guessing they're a molded coating over metal. All have scratches on the face as shown in the pictures, there is spotting on the brass backs and one's push pin is broken but these are still very attractive and unique. Each measures approximately 2 1/2" in diameter.

For your consideration is a set of 4 vintage curtain or drapery tie backs in a metal which appears to be a chrome plated iron. They are fashioned to look like leaves. There is quite a bit of wear as well as much splattered paint on these hold backs. Which gives them a lot of character. Each one is differently aged, and no attempt has been made to polish them. One does seem a bit brighter than the others, however. You can see the variation in the photos. These were used in a rather formal pool cabana in their earlier life. LA MAISON BONHEUR in the South of France a large and heavy pair of signed French cast gilt bronze ormolu drapery tiebacks. Each is topped with a scallop shell cartouche which is repeated on the ornate front medallion. The scallop shell is the symbol of Saint-Jacques. Dating to medieval times and associated with pilgrimages through France to Spain. It is found on many French decorative pieces. Textiles. Metalware and furniture. They are made of cast bronze with an applied gilding. Known as ormolu. It is no longer being made in the traditional way. Which goes back many centuries. It has been replaced with electroplating. Which does not give the richness or depth of historical ormolu. This pair has some loss of the ormolu. Please see the photos. This is normal for gilt pieces of this age.
