Vintage STIMPSON Scale Bracket Heavy Cast Iron Meat Hook Wall Mount Antique Rare
The pictures speak for themselves. I admit that I know little about this old STIMSON Wall Mount Scale Bracket. And that's after having it for several years. Moving it& tripping over it a half a dozen times. In my internet research I could only find 1 more like it. It was complete, dated 1928& was called a Meat Hook Scale. I had intentions too make a tool rack for my log furniture tools but that is probably not going to happen. I cannot say the two pieces go together but they were together when I bought them. The total length of the steel pipe is 29 1/2" and the cast iron wall mount is 21" and weights 31 lbs 12 oz. The scale bar? is brass& 28 1/4" long. It weights 7 lbs 9 oz. They weight 40 lbs total. RARE Antique cast iron wall hanger. Rugged made, for heavy hanging. Made in 1800's and is at least 150 years old. From back of wall plate that is 5-1/4" long and 2" wide, and extends to the curved hook end which is 9" long, weighs 2 lbs. This is a heavy cast iron hook with acorn tips. It is 2- 7/8" long. 3- 3/8" tall, and 1- 3/4" across. There are two countersunk screw holes for mounting. Most of the original black finish has worn away, and where the finish is gone, there is some rust. This hook has nice casting details. With panels on the sides and ribs on the acorn cap. It is thicker and heavier than most of the other cast iron hooks we have had.

I'm SO tired of shoveling snow or being stuck indoors, and spring is only officially 1 month away, so I've decided to start liquidating all the cra,uh,valuable antiques and collectables I collected last year by going to thousands of garage, estate and tag sales, hundreds of auctions and by diving into more than a few dumpsters to make room for this years spoils. This item is a SET of 4 MATCHING ANTIQUE HEAVY CAST IRON NEW OLD STOCK UNUSED SHELF, MANTLE or SIGN BRACKETS in PERFECT CONDITION! I found these buried in a 4 generation-old welding shop that was going out of business. The latest owner had never even seen them before, and the shop was SO old, it had actually started as a blacksmith's shop! They were covered(and ... moreprotected) by about an inch of welding dust, and have never been installed, used or painted. Each bracket measures 16" by 16" and the casting averages 3/4" thick. These brackets uses are limited only by YOUR imagination! I mentioned shelf, mantle or sign bracket, but I also thought they would make a gorgeous tabletop with glass on top or a mailbox bracket, or.
