Fabulous Large Pair Antique Gilded Bronze Gilt Candelabras French Art Nouveau
Fabulous. Large turn of the century cadelabras. Wonderful, old world patina. Beautiful, flowing organic shapes. At one time, these were made into lamps-but then, converted back into candle holders as you can see fron the wax. They can be taken off the wooden bases by unscrewing the bottom. There is verdigris and wear that is consistant with their age-very dusty-I have not cleaned them at all. Extremey heavy-these will be shipped in seperate boxes. Thank you for looking! This circa 1880 possibly older Gilded Bronze FOOTED TRAY has a border in crisp relief showing an abundance of French Country folks chatting, drinking from mugs, on horseback, reaping, and loading kegs onto a wagon, all entwined with vines. There is a bit of wear due to age in the center which shows the bronze color which looks like copper but I do believe it to be bronze although it could be copper. There is also a very slight visible ring in the center probably from something that was set on it. I have not tried to polish this out. Measuring 9.25" top-to-bottom and 13.25" in length. Oustanding Ornate. Large and Heavy French 19th Century Figural Bronze D'Ore Ormolu Clock, in Superb Fully Working Condition Outstanding French clock in unbelievable condition. Depicting a woman reclining on a couch, eating grapes. Very ornate, large and quite heavy, with beautiful filigree dial, forming part of the clock's design. No damage that I can find whatsoever. There is some tarnishing on the clock's sides(mostly on the right side) but most of the gilding is just superb- the clock really shines. Pendulum and bell were removed to take a better picture of the movement, but both are included with the clock. Interestingly, bell attaches to the clock's case, rather than to the movement. I have never sen this before. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions.
