Description For auction are a pair of antique French turned wooden curtain tie/ hold backs. With beaded and gilded decoration. A truly wonderful pair. These are beautiful pieces that would add a touch of French elegance to any interior. Either as decorative finials on an armoire etc. or as curtain hold backs. Condition is generally good however there is a small piece missing from one of the hold backs. The ring below the largest section, the missing piece is lees than half the overall diameter so can't be noticed when mounted. The gilding on the tie backs has mellowed over the years to a matt finish in a lovely old gold hue. Small areas of verdigris complete this fantastic effect which could not be replicated. The tie backs have a hole in the back plate for screwing to a wall and there is a strap on the reverse of the back plate for hanging on a hook.
