Pair of vintage brass curtain hold backs or tie backs acanthus leaf decoration
A pair of vintage brass curtain hold backs or tie backs with acanthus leaf decoration. Each having 2 holes for fixing to the wall. They differ a little bit in size- the one measures 15cm along the back and 17cm along the front. And the other one measures 16.4 cm along the back and 16.1cm along the front and they weigh both together approx. 200 gms. There are marks from use over the years and some denting to the ends of the acanthus leaves. Click on the photos to enlarge.

Larger Antique Cast Iron Shelf Brackets Acanthus Leaf Scroll Original Paint
This is a beautiful antique pair of heavy cast iron shelf brackets. They have a scrolling leaf or maybe acanthus leaf design.They measure 12" x 9" in size. They have the original gold paint I believe. On each bracket one side is a bit darker than the other. All the same original paint but being stored for years in a barn. The sides that were facing up darkened some. I see no damage to the cast iron. There is some light rust in some spots but very far from being rusty. Overall very nice old examples. High bid pays postage.

They have a gorgeous open acanthus leaf embellishment that will sweep down over the top of the curtain when hung on a pole. The effect will be stunning and very château chic. These rings would originally have been sewn directly ... moreonto the curtain but have been adapted in latter years for use with hooks by adding metal loops. Once hung with curtains the metal loops will not be seen but they can be taken off or changed as required. The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a fabulous antique hue. The rings are all good and strong with no dents. The soldering on one of the acanthus leaves has given over the years but it has been carefully wired back on with fine gold coloured wire. This does not detract in any way as the acanthus leaf is not load bearing and still hangs as originally intended. The acanthus leaf embellishment measures 9.5 cm(3.75 inches) high x 3.25 cm(1.25 inches) wide. The inside of the curtain ring itself measures 6 cm(2.25 inches) diameter. Brass Tone Victorian Plaque 2 Adornment Urn Floral Antique Vintage Acanthus Leaf
This sale includes a pair of antique oval plaques or adornments possibly to be used with curtain rods or something else; they have what appear to be acanthus leaves stemming out on either side with a raised urn with draping berries and leaves in the center of the oval. They are mostly brass toned. Not sure what type of metal they are made of(a magnet does NOT stick to them) There is still a hint of color on these with green on some of the leaves and red on the berries. There is a mounting a screw on the reverse of each. Each of the oval sections measure 5 1/2" tall x 3 3/4" wide w/the floral segment on either side making the item 7 5/8" wide.
