Here we offer a hard to find set of twelve Victorian era mahogany knobs/drawer pulls in nice old finish. Possibly English. Two may be old replacements- see final photo. Welcome to my auction for antique hardware. This is for 8 FORGED BRASS drawer handles. Distance between hole centerlines is 3.5 inch. overall length is 4 inch. This is part# 167 from colonial Bronze Company in Torrington. CT. Pulls will ship in with their original box. Box has no tears, but some writing inside. These hardware items were originally purchased by my uncle in the 1930’s; but never used. He was a carpenter by trade and built many beautiful homes. It is possible that there is some discoloring of metals or flaws over the years. I am no expert on cleaning these up. So I am leaving everything in“ as found in the attic” condition. These are Very well made drawer or"finger" pulls. They rest at the top of the drawer case so that only a little lip protrudes. When installed. They are very similar to the type George Nelson used for his"primavera" line of furniture for Herman Miller. Also, Florence Knoll used this type of pull on some of the credenzas. I was planning to use them on the kitchen cabinets of a vintage AIrstream, but have since changed my mind. These are vintage pieces made of solid stainless steel. They were made by LAMP, and were expensive. They are of the highest quality. The condition is very good; some of them might need to be cleaned up a bit, but they have no damage. Six VIntage Art Deco Bauhaus Era 1930s Brass Marbled Bakelite Drawer Pulls
Here are six circa 1930s brass-plated metal and plastic(presumed to be Bakelite) drawer pulls. Each is 5-1/2" long. 1-1/2" high, and 7/8" deep. The metal and Bakelite are seperate mates that nest together snugly. From the center of one mounting hole to the center of another is 4-1/4" All twelve of the original 1-1/8" mounting screws are provided. These deco pulls remind me of the futuristic visitors from outer space that inhabited some of the 1950s Science Fiction films; War of the Worlds" for example. The pulls are in fine shape. 3 Vintage Brass Drawer Pulls Handles Arts & Crafts Style Hollywood Regency Era
We found some nice antique furniture pulls. Knobs, etc. We'll list them over the next week or so. These three(3) center-hole pulls are heavy. They look like a darkened brass. The bail pulls were cast to look hammered. And the cut-out backplates recall Morris' tapestries. They have a nice patina, and are in great shape. We think they're from the late 1930s-early 1940s. The backplates are diamond-shaped. 2.5” X 2.5. They are stamped“18794. The bail pulls are stamped“7715. They are about 2 5/8” wide. Top to bottom, the pulls are about 3.25. 2 Antique Victorian Era Drawer Pulls Door Pulls Fancy Floral Relief Shabby Rusty I want to wish a happy holidays to all my wonderful customers. I am listing light this week. But will have lookouts of new items next week. I went to a local small flea market and focused on finding lots of unique items for you- it was a success! loveLoveLOVE this dynamic duo! It's a very old pair of Victorian era drawer pulls in all their fancy glory. Now. The pulls themselves are either iron or steel- a magnet sticks to them and they each have a layer of surface rust that is light, and surface only- with no eat throughs or thick rust spots. The backplates are another story, though- they are not steel or tin( a magnet does not stick to them) but they are about the same thickness and weight as tin. They have a patina that is so dark it is black in some lights, ... moreand you can see a copper color peeking through the patina on the high relief of the flowers. Now, are they copper? I don't know. They either are, or their another light pressed metal that a magnet does not stick to and had a copper finish at one time. These are beautiful pulls. The backplates measure 4 3/8" wide by 2 1/2" tall and the pulls are 2 3/4" tall from the top of the backplate to the bottom of the pulls. Each weighs just a couple of ounces. Each has two screw holes, and they will be coming with screws. The screw holes are 3 3/16" apart measuring outside to outside, and 2 3/4" measuring inside to inside. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with all the patina and rust discussed above, and in need of a really good bath- they are dirty, and I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. 7 Metal Drawer Pulls Handles Laurel Wreath& Berry Victorian Era Ca 1900 Antique Weight: 8.9 oz. 252 g) Measurements: Bolts have 5/8" x 3/16" shafts- 7/8" long. Including mounting section on backplate Backplates are 1 13/16" diameter- pulls sit out 1/4" from drawer face These drawer pulls are in very nice. Antique condition. The wreaths are cast metal and the backs are pressed metal. They show some very minor wear, aging, and discoloration- see pics. No cracks, dents, repairs, paint or serious bends, just a few small rust spots on the back of some and the wear mentioned. All of the wreath handles lift and work properly. One handle had a little whitish material showing when I took the pic- since have easily removed that and it looks like the others now. These could be cleaned or brightened with a light coat of lacquer ... moreor varathane- I left them'as found' Showing their original, aged patina. I estimate these date to the late Victorian period. 14 Art Deco Depression Era Vintage Crystal Glass drawer knob Door pulls old hex
I have 14 hexagonal(6 sided) knobs being sold in this auction. All 14 are basically the same size: 1 3/8" wide at the fat part, 7/8" where it mounts to furniture, 1 1/4" tall with a hole through the middle that is 3/16" diameter with a larger countersink that is 3/8" diameter and perhaps 1/16" deep. Sizes are approximate) Now I say there are 14 that are the same. But I should mention that 4 of the 14 have a slightly more defined"edge" on the upper"dome" of the hex, the remaining 10 are more smooth. To see an example of what I mean by more defined"edge" see the picture with the corner of my computer in the upper right of the frame. I have not cleaned these but they shimmer and look amazing when dirty. I wish I had some furniture to put these on and polish them up! A few of these have ... moresmall chips, one know has a chip that is 1/8" by 1/4" but only surface and not any cracks. Other than that one knob I only found one other that has a small chip which is about 1/16" long and less wide. Others may have small nicks which would be indistinguishable unless you were looking very close. These are dirty. Also note a couple of them have a bit of stain or paint on them which is just a spot or two and I am sure will come off easily when you clean them up. A couple of these show nice glass making authenticity. By that what I mean is there are small air bubbles inside or the symmetry is not perfect. Sorry no hardware. 3 Beautiful Antique Arts& Crafts Brass Era Drawer Pulls I’m still listing items from the antique sale last week. Plus I am also going to an auction, so hope to bring home lots of new goodies for you- wish me luck! Here are 3 beautiful antique arts& crafts era brass drawer pulls. It's a matching set. And I just have this three, but the style speaks volumes. Each one measures 4 5/8" wide left to right, and 1 5/8" tall from the top of the backplate to the bottom of the handle when it's at rest. The backplate alone is 1 3/8" tall. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition with a very very age darkened patina. At first, I thought that they may be copper, but I see peeks of brass color shining through. You can see lots of spots of black- and I can't tell if that's the patina of the brass, or if the ... morehandles were finished black at one point in time- supersize and see what you think. They are unusual in that, instead of mounting via the opposite of where the handles come to the backplate, the backplates have 4 small mounting holes- 2 up and two down on either side for mounting. The holes are small, and they are 3 7/8" apart center of hole on the left to the center of the hole on the right, and 3/4" apart top to bottom from the center of the holes on either side. Each one weighs a smidge over 2 ounces. They are dirty, and show lots of oxidation, I have not cleaned or messed with as found patina in any way, and they do need a good back. I cannot find a maker's mark or number. All are in excellent solid and sturdy condition. It's a lovely lot of old pulls for you. Please ask if you have any questions. These are Victorian Era glass pulls or knobs. The black are the only ones I've ever seen in my 40 years of collecting glass knobs. They include the brass inset that would go into your cabinet door or drawer. This is a bonus most time these are missing. Also included are two other clear glass pulls, one is missing a screw. This is a very cool set(4) of early plastic drawer handles/pulls. Art Deco pulls are two tone with bright green on top and a creme on the bottom(see all the pictures) Handles are 2 7/8" long. 1/2" at widest point and 1 3/4" between the screw holes.
