It is a sort of canyon red color with gold painted accents and trim. The paint has a rustic finish giving the desk plenty of charm and character. There are two drawers that open and close easily and are constructed with dovetailed joints. From the floor to the bottom of the desk ... moremeasures 24" Which is pretty standard and should fit most chairs. This writing desk is quite sturdy and in overall very good condition. There are two cosmetic age splits on the back corners(see pictures) These are a naturally occurring phenomenon that do not affect the structural integrity of the desk. The four tapered legs of the desk are beautifully decorated and end in brass casters. This desk has plenty of rustic charm and would make a lovely addition to any home or office. The two drawers open and close very easily. Looks great from the side! Both drawers are constructed with dovetailed joints. There are two brass pulls on each drawer. INCREDIBLE TABLE WITH EXTRAORDINARY CARVED DETAIL! We are pleased to offer this antique. Wood console/entry table. This stunning old table features intricate carved designs with strong French or Italian influences. The table has graceful lines and curves. The table has been painted white(somewhat distressed"whitewashed" finish) with gold gilt accenting on the table rim and on the carved features. The carvings are numerous with acanthus leaves and shell pattern on the front apron of the table with an open/pierced carved design. The back legs have large acanthus leaf accents. The feet have a carved"talon and ball" or claw and ball design. The two front legs feature exquisitely carved birds, one on each upper leg. The birds have wonderful detail with cross hatched feathers and intricate eyes and beaks. STUNNING! The bottom ... morestretcher features a center acanthus leaf shell with an incised cross. The table is in very good condition with some signs of use. It is quite sturdy(but not terribly heavy) and does not wobble. There is some chipped paint on the top as well as some condensation marks from glasses being placed on the top with no coasters. These are not terribly distracting and are somewhat faint in nature. The table top could be painted quite easily to match the existing white color if you do not care for the"character marks" This is a beautiful table with exceptional detailing. There are no manufacturer's marks. The table is generously sized and measures 40" wide at the widest point and is 17.5" deep(front to back) at the deepest. Shipping via Greyhound. This is an old early 1900s I think but may be older set of 3 stacking tables from an estate. All together they are 27" tall and top table is 18 1/2" by 14 1/2" The top has a hand painted scene of a shepard and his sheep. The top table has seen the most use and could be made more beautiful by a person who has furniture knowledge. It has numerous dark spots that furniture polish did not effect and a 3" and 1" scratch and other smaller scuff marks. These dark spots may of been caused by heat as a guesse on my part as I really do not know. An artist could touch up the scratches. The top is in used as is condition. The center table is 16" by 13" and has a French lady in a pastorial setting with house in background. It has a 1/2" possible burn hole? It has normal vintage wear. EXQUISITE EARLY 1900'S FRENCH CARVED FRUIT PAINTED 1 DRAWER LARGE CONSOLE TALBLE
This is a beautiful. Vintage French large scale one drawer console table, with a painted and gilded finish featuring clusters of carved fruit. This piece came directly from a Coronado Island estate where the family stated that their mother purchased it from Butterfields in the 1950's or 1960's. We are estimating the age to be at least early 1900's, it could possibly be 19th century Victorian. Console table measures approximately 74" long by 23" deep and almost 36" tall with the glass top. This console table is structurally sound and appears as we purchased it except for the 1/4" custom cut glass top which we recently added. This piece may have had a marble top at some point. However the previous owner purchased it with just the old wooden cut out inset top piece which is covered in fabric which is tacked to ... morethe back of the board.The board simply sits into the top of the piece and the new glass top sits on top of that and hangs over the surrounding painted surface about 1/2" all around. Condition is good with wear expected and commensurate with vintage/previously owned pieces.Stucturally sound. There is one large drawer with an impressive gilded fruit carving on its front.Some of the carvings are gold in color, others are more of a bronze tone, the rest of the piece has an ivory/white painted finish.All of the carvings appear to be intact with nothing major missing and no obvious repairs. The fabric covering the wooden inset top has a time worn, tattered look, and could easily be replaced as this top board is removable.Of particular note, there is some damage to the back left corner where the console touches the wall, this can be seen clearly in the last photo. The top is oval and features incised/carved sunflowers in relief. The flowers are hand painted in multi colors with gilded accents. The balance of the table features an antiqued white or cream paint(original) with a large, aged/crackled technique. The top is gilded around the perimeter. The legs are also carved/incised with a relief pattern that is also painted. The table dates to the 1930s or 1940s. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL AND RARE DESIGN. Antique to older vintage(early 20th century) entry, library, gueridon table. This is a GRAND table, both in scale as well as detail. The table is Rosewood veneer with inlay(marquetry) designs. The table has been completely hand painted(original) in a fabulous flower and drapery pattern. The floral theme is continued in the design of the table base. The base features a very rare, flower petal form, stretcher which is incorporated beautifully into the table design. Each of the 6 petals attaches to each of the table's legs. There are intricate bronze feet which rest on the stretcher. The legs are separated with fabulous arches. The arches are accented with bronze trim. There are also large bronze decorative, acanthus swag mounts on the table apron, in between the legs and arches. ... moreThe painted details are superb. The bellflowers are quite unique with a"ringed" accent detail on each bulb. This is an incredibly beautiful and unique table. It is not marked but it is quite special. It is very large and heavy. It is in very good condition with minor signs of age/use. As is quite common with these pieces. There are areas of"bubbling" to the veneer but all of the veneer is intact. The bronze is completely intact with no missing pieces. There are some"gaps" if you will, around the table top where the bronze trim is located. This means that, although still attached, you can see a space between the trim and the table top in a few areas. This is neither severe nor distracting. You can also see the sections where the table base comes together. The high gloss finish does have surface scratches and some pitted areas on the table top. These are visible in direct light, and not noticeable unless in direct light. In general, this is a fabulous table in VERY GOOD condition. This is a one of a kind design. It is truly beautiful. We are pleased to offer this EXTRAORDINARY vintage(late 1940s) table(pair available) The table is French Chinoiserie style and features a hand painted. Metal tole top(original) and a wrought iron(heavy) faux bamboo base. The top is red with and are adorned with hand painted flowers. The top has a scalloped apron with a hand hammered, beaded detail. The table is a demilune, half round design. The top lifts off the base and is not permanently attached. The base is heavy(the top is a thinner sheet of iron tole) The base is a faux bamboo uniquely created with iron rings welded to the frames to produce the bamboo cane effect. The base is white washed(original) with an antiqued gold accent. The table is superbly constructed and very sturdy. PLEASE NOTE. This is a beautiful antique table that has the original floral hand painted top. It has a wonderful naturally distressed look that has happened over time. The colors on the top are muted yellows and greens. It is 14" x 13" by 17.5" tall. This table is sturdy-no wobble- Although it appears that one of the cross bars has been reglued at one time(as seen in last picture) Also some of the bead wood trim is missing on one side( pic#4) I don't know the age of this piece, however it appears to be early 20th century. French Louis XVI Style Gilt Painted Marble Top Antique Console or Pier Table
FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE GILTWOOD MARBLE TOP CONSOLE TABLE Early 20th Century Item# 502FKG22 This very attractive French Louis XVI Style marble topped console table was probably crafted during the first quarter of the 20th Century. Possibly earlier. The marble top is absolutely gorgeous, an original and vast slab of Carrara marble with projecting corners and a thin channel carved around the edges. The apron of the table is intricately carved with repeating motifs of floral rosettes set inside an infinite swirling ribbon and over the twisted rope molding along the lower edge. The center of the apron features a wonderful display of sprouting acanthus foliage, the same form employed as returns along the back edge of the frame. The legs are exquisitely carved, the swell of the baluster carved with crisp acanthus leafage over the tapering stop-fluted ... moredesign of the leg and terminating on carved ball toes beneath a square blocked rosette. For anyone passionate about fine French furnishings, this is an absolutely gorgeous classical piece of a style and form that has remained incredibly popular for over two hundred years. Measurements: 51 3/4" W x 17" D x 31 3/4" H Condition Report: Missing molding over left leg. Other small molding losses, some looseness in gilt wood return at back of side, right front leg joint a bit loose from years of use.
