We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Petite accent table. The table is made of mahogany and dates to the early half of the 20th century. It features extremely ornate carvings and is in the French Rococo style. The table is a half round, demilune design. It has a very pronounced skirt with heavily carved flowers and leaves. The legs are also nicely carved with beautiful lines and curves. An ornate stretcher supports and connects the legs. The feet are in a claw design with the front, center foot being the only"whole" foot. The table has been(I don't know when) painted on the top as well as an accent to the flowers on the skirt. The paint is an off white to cream in color. It appears that the table top has an antiquing glaze as well. The table is quite beautiful. We are pleased to offer this lovely pair of antique(very early 20th century) side tables or nightstands. The pair feature solid oak bodies and mahogany tops with stunning. Crotch mahogany veneer. The tables feature finely carved details on the perimeter of the tops as well as on the upper sections of the legs. The perimeters have a notched"feathered" carving and the legs feature carved acanthus leaves. Some of the legs have a quarter sawn pattern. The feet are hooved and are pointed at the tips. The mahogany tops are slightly inset. They feature the distinctive, book matched, crotch cut veneer which is accomplished in a 4 section parquetry. The tables have scalloped aprons which are attached to the table tops via old, flat screws. The legs are attached to the tops via dowels. The tables are very sturdy and weighty for their size. ... moreThey are in very good condition considering the age. The tops were probably originally protected with glass that sat inside the insets. The tops do show some age to the veneer. It is not"glass like" in all the areas. This is not terribly distracting and does give the tables an aged character. It can be resolved if you so choose. Beautiful antique parlor table. The table is mahogany and features a striking. Burled mahogany, parquetry veneer top. There is also an inlaid, scroll design. The table features ornate carvings on the apron as well as on the legs. The stretcher support is also interesting and is finished with a carved"twist" flower bud finial. The table is in very good condition with some evidence of age/use to the veneer top. There are a few chips in the veneer and it appears that they have been covered up with some stain. This is not terribly distracting and can be resolved if you so choose. As it is, the table is quite beautiful with an aged character. It is very sturdy and structurally sound. Very nice table. VTG 1940 FRENCH ART DECO REGENCY AESTHETIC CARVED MAHOGANY ACANTHUS SPIDER TABLE
VERY SPECIAL TABLE! Graceful. Flowing lines are the form of this vintage(1940s) side table. The table borrows from French Art Deco, with Aesthetic and Art Moderne elements as well. The table features an 8 leg, spider design but differs in form from the Mid Century Modern tables in that, rather than harsh lines, this table has beautifully curved, carved legs with acanthus details at each end of the legs. The ball, cabriole style feet are formed with a scrolled acanthus leaf. The table has a glass top which is held in placed with screws, concealed in floral medallions, that attach on the exterior of the table top surface. The table is not marked but is of exceptional quality. This is a FABULOUS, vintage table with a somewhat rare design. It is in VERY GOOD condition for its age with only a couple of very minor scuffs. The pair were part of their"San Martino" collection which was a French Country/Provincial inspired collection. The tables are of a lower profile and feature beautiful. Flame mahogany, rectangular tops achieved in a 4 piece parquetry. The columns are urn shaped and are fluted. The bases are a 4 section, carved and raised corbel design. The tables are in good condition with only very minor evidence of age/use. They are sturdy and structurally very nice. The tables are 17.25" tall. Will ship anywhere* Really cool. Hard to find PAIR of French kidney bean shaped side or lamp tables or bedside stands. Circa 1920's to 1930's, each is in very good antique condition. They are delicate with the cabriole legs with an older mortise and tenon construction(see pictures) and the inlaid tops of each in exotic and fruit woods. The hand carved and pierced or reticulated floral and acanthus leaf aprons add to the pleasing characteristics of these tables. The bottom shelf of each is beautifully grained. The feet are carved. The fabulous grain of each of the woods is icing on the cake! Offered is a very fine pair of antique French Marquetry Inlaid and pierced carved side or lamp tables. These tables are about as close to new in condition as I have seen for 75-90 year old pieces. Accented with strechers and pie crust shelves. These 2 tables will add to any home or office decor. Dimensions are 24 inches square at the top and 14.5 inches diameter on the shelves, there is plenty of room for your favorite pair of lamps and plenty of extra space to place items on the table surfaces. I just noticed taking the time to turn the tables over that they have included a picture of the special blocks of wood inserted in the table legs and side trim as a way of connecting the pieces together. There is also on a fair part of the carvings with gilt(looks like antique gold paint possibly) really striking on these 2 tables.
