Location: Dyer, United States Original stained glass window drawing(cartoon) of an angel from the firm of Clayton& Bell. Undated. But circa 1900. Water color and pencil on thin ... morepaper. 24 inches high by 13 inches wide. Location noted as Lamplugh. This cartoon was the template used by the firm. One of England's preeminent stained glass window manufacturers(founded in the 1850s) to make the windows themselves. Dark lines represent the lead lines and the finer details were painted onto the glass and fired in a kiln. At their height, Clayton& Bell employed 300 people. The in house artists were influenced by the styles of their times, which include gothic revival and art nouveau. The paper is creased where the drawing was folded for storage and reuse. I have attempted to photograph all instances of minor tears and/or small holes. The company's offices was bombed during the Blitz and the earliest pieces and business records were lost. Drawing will be shipped flat in cardboard. International bidders should enquire about shipping rates. Please see our Ebay store for more antique stained glass window pieces. Great large stained glass window, MUST SEE!!! 1900 ca. Religious , Architectual
This is a rare large great stained glass window. There are actually two pieces to the set. They both could be taken or just the main one. 1900 ca. Has jewels, glass, original steel rod re-enforcement on the back. The main window measure 103" x 80" and the addition is 103" x 32. The addition was original turned 180 degrees and applied to the top. The addition does have some issues with bowing, breaks and is loose on the upper edges(closer pics upon request) The main window does have some minor bowing, some cracks and is missing one of the circular pieces(as seen in photo) I would estimate the weight to be 250 to 300 lbs. 2 men can move it. There is a piece of glass on the back which states" To The Glory of God and the Memory of W.m. Donnelley" I am assuming this was retrieved from a church at one time. There is some ... moredecaying of the wood on the bottom of the window, it does not look to be affecting the structure. I could see this in a loft, studio, restaurant, bar, home, or business. Antique Multi Colored Stained Glass Window ca.1900 Search I ncredible antique stained glass window. All leaded frame. Multiple colors and design,perfect for sitting on a window sill and letting the sun shine through it for an awesome display. Location noted as Friern Barnet. St John the Evangelist is an Anglican church on Road in north London. It is a late example of the by Victorian architect. Begun in 1890-91 and completed after his death by his son. Originating in 1883 as a chapel-of-ease to Friern Barnet parish church it was initially a temporary iron structure on the north side of Friern Barnet Road and known as the school-church of St John. Absolutely Gorgeous American Ca. 1890-1900 Stained Glass Window
This amazing. Extremely well made, antique stained glass window is absolutely gorgeous and in excellent condition for its age. As you can see from the photos, it was made of green slag and clear colored glass in various appealing colors, and the effect is quite magnificent. The window has three cracks in it- these cracks can be seen in the photos if you look closely with your mouse. They are barely noticeable. The window hung in someone's home around the years 1890-1900, and it still has the two hinges on the right side and the hole where the latch must have once been on the left side to prove it. I had two holes drilled into the top of the frame of the window so that hooks could be put in for hanging, and I will leave those hooks in place for you. If bidding goes above $650, I will include the hanging chains, as well.
