This real nice arts and crafts transom is from a home in Marietta. Ohio I purchased. I have listed 4 other matching clear leaded beveled glass windows from the same home. This leaded stained glass transom measures in overall dimensions: 89" x 15-3/4" I can only find one crack in the small butterscotch piece of glass. I thought there was another however it just APPEARS to be a crack but it is a flaw in the early glass because there is no crack on the reverse side of the piece. It is a very sturdy! Antique Arts& Crafts style stained glass transom window. Measurements of the wood frame is approximately 48" long x 19" tall. It has a design of pink tulips and green leaves. The pink flower and green leaves are a cream type glass. There is clear glass around the flower. At the top at bottom of the tulip there is a raised/embossed floral design of clear glass. There are 5 tulips across the window. At the third tulip on the clear glass to its right there are 2 hairline cracks from the metal to metal. The wood shows wear on all sides from age and use. Bottom right corner is damaged. The window is firmly and securely in place in the frame. There are 2 hooks on the top. The window could use a detailed cleaning and comes as you see. 3pc Arts & Crafts Leaded Stained Beveled Glass Prairie School Transom Window
A very nice 3 pc transom window set. Probably American. Early 1900's to 1930. Heavy Arts& Crafts/Prairie School influence. Frank Lloyd Wright style. Beveled clear glass with stained glass. Remnants of gold leaf to some smaller pieces of glass in the chevrons. I would guess these to have been meant as exterior windows based on the condition of the leading or cames(corroded) Glass is in overall good condition, seems to be all original pieces with no replacements. I see only 2 small broken pieces of stained glass in large window(pic 8) plus a small stained glass piece break in another area. 1 break to small window stained glass piece. All the clear beveled pieces are in good condition without breaks, though they do have some minor scratches as expected with age. Some minor separations of the leading including lower corner of large window ... moreshown picture# 9. This can and probably should be fixed soon to avoid further separations. Heavy corrosion to some of the leading, 1 example shown pic# 7. Large window measures approx. 29 3/8" long X 12 3/4" highest point. Small windows are 8 1/2" wide X 12 1/2" tallest. This marvelous stained and textured glass window is from the arts and crafts era. With a wreath and ribbon design this gorgeous window has 7 jewels encrusted in the design. There is bowing in the glass of this window as shown. The frame is painted on one side and stained on the other side. And some caulk loss. There are approx 3 panes with cracks and the outer boarder is painted. We recommend using paint remover to remove paint and enhance the beauty of this window even further.
