It is a beautiful solid wood chest that is very sturdy and has six dovetail drawers. Children can jump on this chest and it is not going anywhere. We refinished the chest with a white patina that allows the wood grain to show through. The chest is in very good condition. There is wear on the back of the chest. The thin wood on the back of the piece has cracked in several places. This has no effect on the structural soundness of the chest. This Dresseris solid wood and has been painted once by me. It is stamped in the interior"the Scenario" Kent Coffey and has a sticker that says Bullocks, Pasadena. Vintage Highboy Dresser Midcentury Custom Painted 1950's Solid Wood by RWAY
FOR SALE- A midcentury 1950's tall chest of drawers also known as a highboy dresser. Tall and compact. F RENCH DIRECTOIRE/NEO-CLASSICAL STYLE- Manufactured by RWAY formerly-Northern Furniture Co. in Wisconsin. Beautiful clean lines and custom painted. Wood supposedly is mahogany as to my research. Lower draw shows lighter shade discoloration in the front(see pics) and some discoloration on the sides. Color is an cream. Off-white-ish/yellowish/lemonish with dark blue highlights. Original metal handles all intact. There are some nicks here and there as expected from furniture this old. It's a pretty looking dresser and made of solid and awesome lines. If you re-painted it. Strip it, re-purpose or just leave it as is. This comes from a estate in Astoria NY where everything was keep in immaculate condition, everything was customed made ... moreor painted.
