It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

It's very heavy and beautifully carved with tusks up the legs and around the top, and the legs resemble trunks. It isn't flawless and has wear from age and use including a chip at the top of one of the legs as shown in pictures 8, 9, and 11. There are some red stains, perhaps can be removed but we didn't try in order not to compromise the finish on the wood; I noticed them when looking close. The most noticeable spot of red can be seen by zooming in on picture 7. Although it's in good condition, you might want to glue and tighten up some of the seams. It is 17-1/2" in height x 13" across the top x 16" across the legs. It weighs a glorious 19 lbs. Presenting one of the most exquisite pieces of vintage small furniture I've seen in a while: an oval cream white painted wood marble top vanity or boudoir side table with reticulated or pierced brass filigree rim in the Hollywood Regency style. Stamped on the bottom"Danby" This little table measures about 18 inches high to the top of the brass rim, 15 1/4 inches wide across the rim and 12 1/2 inches front to back across the rim. It has sleek, classic Federal style legs and a gray veined white marble top, with the brass rim surrounding the marble and rising about 3/4 of an inch from the top, creating a tray-like surface perfect for vanity items like combs, hand mirrors and brushes, perfume bottles, powder jars, compacts, make-up, etc. It makes a perfect little table at the side of a bed, fainting couch, vanity or vanity ... morebench. The brass rim is slightly out of shape in a couple of places. But not obvious, and there are some scattered small white dings to the marble surface. The colors of this attractive commode are earthy and relaxed, the neutral palette easily adopted into most design settings. The entire surface is inlaid with some rather intricate marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon, the same arrangement employed on either side of the case. Antique buffet in shades of brown woods- burled, mahogany etc.- marble top
Exquisite woods of different grains and color. Exquisite detail work and practical design with two drawers and two large cabinets with doors. Not a nail used in this lovely piece of furniture. All glued. Needs a little refresher gluing but other wise in gorgeous usable condition. Heavy margle top with curved edges. I'm guessing at Walnut. It has at least three lovely woods- two of them burled differently.

This is a Vintage Marble Top Vanity without the Mirror. This was originally purchased in Hong Kong and ship to the states several years ago and has been in storage since then. The marble does have some small chips and holes from the screws that were for the mirrors but can easily be sanded and made to look beautiful. The wood is an ultra light wood so with out the marble it can easily be moved and easy to work on. I'm not sure of the type of wood. But it sure looks awesome.
