Up for auction is a wonderful. Antique, primitive, wrought iron, hanging game/herb rack. The top portion measures 10 inches high and 12 1/8 inches across. Each of the 8 hooks measures 7 inches long. The re is rust and signs of age on the hooks. They w ere a 2 piece hook at one time. But only one hook comes apart now, the other 2 are rusted together. Description(4) vintage cast iron wall mounted brackets. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. The load carrying portion extends out 12-1/4" They weigh about 9 pounds total. Please enlarge all pictures to see the condition and details the best. Lot of cast iron and metal swing arm curtain rods with some hooks. There are alot of MISSING WALL BRACKETS. There are only a couple wall brackets for the white rods.The black rods all have the brackets but they are different than the wall brackets needed for the white rods so they can't be switched. Look closely at the pictures to see what is included in the auction lot. If it is not in the pictures it is missing. The white rods measure app. 15 inches and extend out to 22 inches. The black arrow rods measure 17 inches and extend out to app. 24 inches. They will all need to be cleaned or repainted since they are dingy.Dirty,chipped up and scratched. I really don't know what this is. It seems to be hand forged. The top piece with the leaves attached is a curved 2 feet wide. It has two brackets on each end to attach to a wall. And 6 iron leaves attached. Two of the hanging Hooks are 19 1/2" and 2 are 25" long. They are easily changed to have them in what ever order you want. Each hook has cross bars at the ends I really would appreciate it if anyone knows exactly what this is to be used for. The estate I bought this from told me they were curtain rods. Six of these hooks are the same and the hook that has old paint on it is just a bit smaller. Six of these hooks are in very good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or worn areas in the metal and there are no repairs, but one of the larger black hooks has a flaw in the cast iron(sort of a dent) near the end of the hook which you can see in the pictures. The bigger hooks were all painted black at some point so they do show signs of natural wear and use with most of the paint missing. The bigger hooks have a reach of 2” long. ... moreAnd the mounting base is 1” x 3/4” with a little pointed stability spike on the back side. The hole in each hook will accommodate a 3/16” screw or nail. The smaller painted hook has a reach of 1 3/4” long– otherwise the measurements are the same. Restored and refinished in an attempt to bring out their original appearance as well as to preserve them for future use. The assortment of cast iron and steel hooks are in very good condition and a number of styles are represented. When acquired, the pieces were layered with paint, rust, dirt and grime and the restoration process shows the pieces to be quite ornate and solid.
