Vintage William and Mary Style Chest from The Collectors Edition by BAKER FURNITURE c1970 The makers original paper tag still affixed to the inside of one drawer reads: Simple restrained lines and rich French Walnut burls accented with brass Baroque drawer pulls mark this five drawer chest as a pleasing example of the William and Mary period. Reproduced from an English original circa 1695. Its drawers and top are rendered in Walnut burls with fine banding and inlays. I can't put it any better than that. This absolutely elegant and fine piece is in excellent condition structurally. But there are minor nicks to the finish on the drawer fronts and significant loss of finish to the top. Reproduced from an English original circa 1695. Its drawers and top are rendered in Walnut burls with fine banding and inlays. I can't put it any better than that. Up for bids is a magnificient peice of Baker Furniture Queen sized four poster Bed. It is solid wood and beautifully detailed. It has four tall posts and is 63" wide X 80" tall X 80" long. I am not an expert in wood but it is mahogny in color. It is a beautiful peice. There are two side peices made of wood that hold would be the outside rails and one down the middle from front to back. I have three peices up for sale. This is for one of the set. On another auction, I have the matching larger chest in the same style and another one, the matching small chest. All by Baker Furniture. The photos are of the bed taken apart and on a roller pallet to prevent damage. Made in USA. It is post-1950 although I do not know the exact date. It appears to be a Milling Road collection style.
