ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ~ EDWARDIAN COAT HANGER This antique coat hanger is made of a gilt metal& mahogany? There is a turning hook in the centre to hang it from a dressing screen or picture rail. That can then be turned back to hang from a wardrobe rail. The handle gives you extra hight to hang it up higher and would keep a long dress off the floor. The shape of the arms also keep fine straps from slipping off the hanger. It is 9 3/4" from hook to end of the handle x 13 3/4" from arm to arm. There are some dark marks and scratches on the gilt as you would expect from its age and use. The handle has small marks. But it is in good working order. This is a great item to add to a collection of period costumes.

This curtain rod measures over 17" long collapsed. It is one of the more ornate ones I've seen with a floral rose? design. The piece is in typical condition for its age. It shows wear. Paint loss, and scuffs. I don't know if the gold paint is original. Some of the base metal is showing and there is some white paint in some areas. There square rod shows a good deal of scratches and some rust. Unfortunately, there is only one. I didn't notice any major cracks, breaks, or damage. For sale is a nice old/antique wall bracket or coat hook. Is a nice solid metal. Not sure if it is cast iron or heavily tarnished other alloy, it seems a bit light in color to be cast iron to me and has some color to it but perhaps that is just age wear. Piece is in very good condition. Don't see any rust except on the back side on the screw& next to wall plate. Piece measures about 6.5" wide& 5" tall. Coming from a smoke free home. Vintage large metal hook for a door or wall. Good for hats, coats, towels. This appears old or is a good reproduction, but I think it's old. I don't know what the metal is, it isn't brass, could be iron, has a bronzed look and color in an ornate Victorian fluer-de-lis shaped pattern. The hook has been soldered on and looks original, see my photos. It's 9" tall, 5 1/2" wide and the hook sticks out 2 1/2" from base. It weighs almost 13 ounces.
