Vintage Sandwich Amberina Glass Drapery Curtain Tie Backs- Beautiful! Ruby Red- Amber I am no glass expert but I believe these are a relatively uncommon find. These tie backs are just beautiful! They measure ~ 4 3/8" in diameter They have ruby red and amber/yellow tones typical of amberina glass. There are no posts with them. They are in great condtion but have a few defects: 1. The one in the 3rd picture has an abrasion in the glass in the center hole where the post goes but is not cracked 2. This same tie back has 1 chip at the tip of one of the flower petals- plainly seen in pics 6-9 3. There other tie back has a chip in the center of one of the round balls that surround the center of the flower- see pics 10-12. The back sides have swirls in the glass but this is typical in the making of old glass I believe. I do my best to describe ... moremy items but I am not perfect. These tie back are in fact vintage. Not mint. They are used but still gorgeous! The defects do not detract from their beauty or functionality. Please ask questions! As I have stated- I am not a glass expert or an antique dealer- just a great estate sale and auction shopper! Pair of Sandwich Opalescent Glass Rosette Curtain Tiebacks. C. 1850-1880. The tiebacks are beautiful fiery opalescent glass with pewter metal hangars with screws attached to the bottom. These are curtain tie backs to hold open curtains. They have a great molded Flower Petal design that is called"Rosette" They are made from opalescent flint glass. These are Sandwich Glass examples that date from the middle of the 19th Century. Very nice pair of Sandwich opalescent flint glass curtain tiebacks offered here with the opening bid the only reserve. DIMENSIONS: 3 1/4" Dia. at the glass. The pewter posts are 4 5/8" L. CONDITION: The condition of the pair is very good iwith some small nicks to the glass around the edges the only excuse.
