This is 9” long x 1 ¼” at the widest point x ¼” thick. It was a barn find. This made of steel. This has been lightly cleaned but have never been wire brushed. Has rust pitting in the metal. Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Folk Hand Carved Wood Swivel Wall Hook Forged Iron AAFA So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Love this one. It's very old. It's hand made, and I really don't think that my photos do it justice. It is a hand made wood wall hook with hand carved details on the backplate as well as the end of the hook. The piece is two pieces of solid wood that I believe are oak- it's hard to tell for sure because the patina is so dark, so please look at the grain in my photos and see what ... moreyou think. The two are attached with an iron U shaped bracket, and there is a pin on either side of the back side of the hook to allow it to swivel. When you look really closely, you can see that the hardware is forged iron- U bracket and pins- this one was totally hand made, and it's quite old. The backplate has two small holes for mounting on the wall and it measures 5 3/3" tall by 7/8" wide. The piece is 13 1/2" long from the back of the backplate to the very front of the hook and at the body, the hook is 5/8" by 5/8" and is 5/8" by 1" tall at the end. Check out how there's a"hook" that is carved into the end of the arm- an angled up part to keep your items well secure on the arm. It weighs just over 1/4 lb all together and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- totally usable and strong. The swivel action works great and the piece is surprisinly strong for it's age and inteneded use. There's minor finish wear to spots all over- most seen at the backplate around where the screws used to be. Antique Hand Wrought Forged Iron Spring Clip & Pulley Gate Door Farm Primitive
Up for bidding is this lot of two antique items: one Hand Wrought Spring Clip and one Pulley. These came from an old house here in the Rochester area. Where they had sat for a long, long time. The Hand Wrought Spring Clip is in working condition. And has a delicate curl at the opening end. At the other end it has a hand-wrought link and mounting bracket. I assume the mounting bracket was twisted into its current shape during the removal process, but I don't know what it looked like originally. It was like that a long time before I ever saw the thing. The Pulley looks more like a manufactured piece to me(although I'm certainly no expert) It spins freely but would probably benefit from a little oiling. Farm, old factory, warehouse decoration, plant, lighting- many uses. Good condition. No break, damage or repaired. Old rustic patina. Authenic- not a repro. Size: 7" long. The pointed end of the hook is 2-1/4" across and the bottom has been hammered out more flat instead of round. The other end of the hood is. 2-3/4" across. Shipping to US only. VINTAGE PRIMITIVE HAND WROUGHT TIE DOWN RING This primitive piece has a great patina and is still in great working condition. Very heavy duty and strong enough for a large animal. The nut moves with ease and the joinery was skillfully done, leaving no weak points. Ring and bolt are 7" long. Bolt is 5" long and ring has a 2 3/4" diameter. Bolt has a bend to it. Could have been done when it was wrought or the result, perhaps, of an irate bull. A good addition for a shop or a rustic camp or cabin. Also good for any antique tool collection. Useful. HUGE Antique Primitive Hand Forged Iron Double Hay Meat Farm Hook Hanger
This is an excellent. Heavy duty antique hand forged iron double hook with loop on top for hanging. I don't know what it was used for but it was found in a barn. It is sturdy and solid, noting is cracked, or broken, and it is HEAVY. The metal has a light coating of surface rust and possible very shallow pitting, but the metal is very thick and the rust and pitting have only affected the hook cosmetically. It measures 29" L x 11 1/2" W and the hook ends are 12" long. It will be packed securely and insured during shipping.
