This is a wonderful pair of antique cast iron Eastlake style shelf brackets! They measure a touch over 7" by 5" They date from around the 1870-80's. They are in as-found contdition and have green and are a little rusty. I have not tried to clean them at all. The condition is very good. Here's two antique shelf brackets as found with chipped white paint and rust. They were found together but they are not an exact match. They are almost the same size. The Scroll one is just a tad over 9" long and 6-3/4" wide. The Flower one is 8-7/8" long and just shy of 7" wide. They have an art deco design and together they weigh approximately 2 pounds 4 ounces. They are made of a cast metal and have been painted black. The design is quite detailed and is very striking. 3 Vintage Iron Metal Factory Shelf Brackets, Also good for hanging antique signs
For your consideration. Three old shelf brackets. Probably cast iron but I suppose they could be steel. Shabby patina but still sturdy enough to hold a heavy shelf. Would look great in an old garage or workshop. I find these are also nice for hanging antique double-sided signs; just turn them upside down and tie on the sign with some old chain or wire. One side is about 8" long, the other about 6" The tips of the long side have been bent up slightly, probably to help hold a shelf in place. Could be bent back down easily enough. Lg Pair Antique EASTLAKE Cast Iron Shelf Brackets, Original, Vintage, Old Metal
Antique Cast Iron Shelf Brackets. Matching pair of antique cast iron shelf brackets in the Eastlake style circa early 1900's. This pair is unmarked and measure 15 1/2” by 17 1/2” They are not coated and have a nice oxidation. Should clean up nicely. Weigh nearly 10 pounds. Condition: These brackets are in good condition with no breaks or repairs. The surface has a“weathered” patina and the design is not as crisp as it was when it was new. There is rust on some areas. But it’s not very noticeable as it blends in with the dark brown color of the brackets. Please view all the detail photos carefully to assess the condition for yourself.
