Antique Victorian Cast Iron 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Door Hinges Steeple Pins
These are Victorian-era door hinges of cast iron in good working condition. There is one pair for sale in this auction. Each hinge measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and is marked on the reverse side. There is damage to the bottom of the steeple on each hinge pin. As can be seen in the third photograph. The tops are still tight to the pin. There is also a casting flaw on the edge of one leaf. It does not appear that it would affect the strength of the hinge. They have been cleaned of paint but have not been recoated and are the last of this pattern in my inventory.

These solid bass pins remove rather easily but you still should follow ... morea few precautions. Because these have solid brass pins so you should not use a screwdriver under the pin top to remove them but rather us a flatted nail or better yet a punch to push the pin out from the bottom. You also should not use a hammer to strike the pin top directly but rather use a piece of wood positioned on the top of the pin before hitting it. It features a copper stripe finish on a steel base. Not including the pin they are 3.5" long and 4.25" wide. The offset is about 5/8" They have ball pins and their original screws for mounting. They have some minor surface wear but given their age they are in great condition. I do have 5 more of these sets listed. I also have the matching closet door sets and standard door sets listed. Gold string, safety pins, snaps, clock parts, etc. In a wood looking frame, takes a AA battery, not included and it has a stand that you can use or not. Very good condition, works well. I am offering for sale this lot of Misc. Vintage Door Hardware. There are two painted Key Plates. Each measures 7 x 2 1/4 inches and I believe them to be brass. There are 4 painted hinges with three holes. They measure 3 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. Two of these have"tips" on them. There are three hinges with 4 holes in them and each has a"flat top" pin in it. These measure 4 inches x 1 5/8. There are 7 loose pins, two flat top ones and 5 ball top. Two have been painted.There are 4 smaller hinges, painted blue, and each has three holes. There is one old door strike and the other little piece I have no clue what it is! I am selling the lot as one.
