For those of you who are Globe Wernicke/Macey stack barrister legal bookcase collectors. Restorers, investors and fans these are EXACTLY what you need to finish detailing your bookcase desk units. This auction is for 2(two) matching or one pair of bookcase desk tract WOODEN STOP assemblies. I have shown the use of the stops in the photo with installed tracts in the unit. The bearing assemblies I sell on ebay go thru the front of the tract and the wooden stops go at the very rear of the tract(up against the back of the unit) to act as the door stop. The size of my stops are identical and are specific to each tract or size unit(D,C,G,H and 41 inch units) ... moreI have all sizes on hand. The finish looks like new wood but can be aged with a little walnut stain if you like. Original stops are on the left in the first photo for comparison. They come with 4 attaching correct brads but there were several styles of those used and we include one of the more common styles. The stop is important to prevent over opening of the door when pushing back the door and causing damage to the rear panel, scissors assemblies and it holds the rear of the tract in place for smooth operation of the door. Without the stops the doors jams as it moves backwards, as the tracts tend to expand outward towards the rear if not fixed down. The pieces are precision cut and perfectly dimensional formed. We have all door stops for all production Globe Wernicke units. People often use the Globe Wernicke hardware to convert their Macey units when the irreplaceable door tract parts are missing on those as well. lane cedar chest*Many pictures below in listing* Very cool. Unusual and rare old pair of Georgia Tech cast iron"Buzz" bookends, circa 1920-1980. Possibly independently made. Very cool pair of heavy iron bookends. Having some trouble with these. No others or others from other schools with same build can be found- they have characteristics of cast iron objects made from 1940-1960s. They have the look, feel, patina, etc of something with that age. The Buzz figures area also slightly different from standard Tech Buzz. Slightly different styling with more straight angular mouth, antennae a little shorter and more straight up. Wings are very similar, but only one visible. Only one eye shown. Also, of course the font of the"G" is pretty old school, very similar to typical industrial fonts found in first half of 20th century. ... morePerhaps an early independent project by a student or engineer/craftsman at a foundry who went to Tech? Regardless of their age. From 20 to 80 years old, they are exceptionally appealing objects and just cool things to show off. I believe original or very old paint is the silver. When wiping them down, some oxidation came off with the silvery finish underneath. 7.25" tall. 6" wide, 1.75" deep at base. Heavy. Very good condition with surface oxidation and irregularities. No structural flaws. I am leaving as is, these could clean up or be painted as you wish; I like them as-is and will leave you the option. It may just be a draw pull. The most awesome is that massive brass/bronze one as seen close-up in the last 4 pictures. It is simply massive and beautiful! The condition of the stops are generally good with varying degrees of typical wear from age and use, as pictured. One is missing a screw, another has some nail holes, and none have been cleaned. It is not often you get a matching pair of these door stops that match so well so I am listing them as a set. They are 3 1/4" long with out the mounting screw and 1 1/2" in diameter. Just drill a small hole in your baseboard and turn it in and you're ready to go. It has old gray milk paint that has brush marks. A few chips and wear spots. Milk paint is the old method of paint making before enamel paint was being used. It will add that neat old look that you are looking for with small dings. Dents and scratches. The finish looks like new wood but can be aged with a little walnut stain if you like. Original stops are on the left in the first photo for comparison. They come with 4 attaching correct brads but there were several styles of those used and we include one of the more common styles. The stop is important to prevent over opening of the door when pushing back the door and causing damage to the rear panel. Scissors assemblies as it holds the rear of the tract in place for smooth operation of the door. Pair of antique solid brass book ends. Not sure of the maker of these or the age but I have had them for over 30 years and they were old when I got them. Very nice collectible antique detailed bust of Abraham Lincoln cast in solid brass(over 5 pounds for the pair) These would look great as is or polished up. Could be used as door stops or book ends or just as a nice antique brass display. Due to their weight. I will carefully package these in a flat rate priority shipping box and ship them promptly.
