Older Burl Walnut Nest Of 3 Tables Carved Corners Ball & Claw Feet From Scotland
This auction is for a neat older or vintage set of Nest Of Three(3) Tables from Scotland. This is a neat& unique. Along with being very, very pretty Nest of Tables. All of the tops have parquet Burled Walnut Tops. The wood grains of the Burl Walnut is Beautiful. All of the tables have cabriolet legs with"ball& claw" feet. All of the tables have carved corners and carved fronts. These are well made tables that have been around for quite a while. These ate not the 80's models that flooded the markets from import stores that were so cheaply made. These tables have solid walnut aprons annd legs. The aprons are attached to the tops with the older"flathead" screws. All of the table are in good condition without any rot or worm damage. The finish on each table is also still in good condition but not mint or excellent ... moreby any means. They would add interest& charm to any room. They Look Good stacked or you can set them around seperately, when needed. There will No Additional Charges added for shipping to any address in the Lower 48 States. The largest table is 20 5/8" X 14 5/8" and is 21 3/4" tall. The middle size table is 16 1/8" X 12 3/8" and 20 3/4" tall. The smallest table is 12 1/2" X 10 1/4" and 19 1/2" tall. Each have blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) to the tops as well as some nicks. Dings and scratches on the legs but all are in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. The tops have some crazing to the finish, but each table has had 5 coats of hand rubbed tung oil appiled which show stop that in it's tracks. Antique Schmieg& Kotzian of New York georgian style set of 3 nesting tables with burlwood tops. The firm of Schmieg& Kotzian of New York was established in1910. They became extremely well known for exquisite design. Superior craftsmanship and outstanding quality furniture. They also were well known for their ability to obtain the best and the rare and exotic woods. This is an original set of 3 nesting Walnut tables that slide into one another. Tops of the tables are made from gorgeous Burled Walnut veneer. Each table has slightly different wood grain that was chosen so artfully that they compliment each other and create stunning results! The tables are in great condition and were VERY WELL preserved through the years. The top, or largest tabletop is just a shade darker than the smaller 2, as would be expected from age. The lower cross ... morebrace on the bottom of the smallest table(see photo) is broken off. But included for future repair. There are very few minor marks on the tables that you would expect from furniture of this age. The 1st table is 22 ½" high. The top is 17 ½" x 13" The 2nd table is 21 ½" high. The top is 15 ½ x 12" The 3rd table is 20 ½" high. The top is 13 ½" x 11 ½" I have not cleaned or oiled these. This is nice original, dry surface as shown.
