The diameter measures 29-1/2" but I believe they call this a 30" table top. It was probably used on a plant stand or some type of table. The finish is flat or matte and it has signs of use over the years that gives it an aged patina look. It is in as found condition and I have not attempted to clean it. There are some rust colored marks as shown in the pictures. There is also some flaking here and there. The marks probably come from being exposed to water over the years. The dining table has a rectangular top with rounded ends and 2 pull out extra leaves which store neatly at each end. It has carved detail to the edge of the leaves and striking floral carving to the arpon on all sides, The dining table stands on very large bulbous end columns which have more floral carving and a platfrom type base which is united by a sturdy stretcher. Condition The table is 100% sound. Sturdy and free from woodworm, The top of the table has just been repolished so is in very good overall condition. Originally from a church. This unique and one-of-a-kind eight(8) person dark wood dining room table is one of our favorite pieces. However, we have downsized and are condo dwellers now, and hope to find a good home for this historic piece. X 19 1/2" wide(closed) x 27 1/2" tall and has 1 working drawer with wood knob and 1 faux drawer with matching pull. The leaves measure 10" making the table 39 1/2 wide when leaves are extended. The leaves are supported by 4 wooden braces. The distance from bottom of leaf to floor is 17 1/2" The legs are rope turned and have 2 depressions as can be seen on the pictures. Pick up only. The table comes with the set of matching 8 chairs as shown in the picture. We can safetly say this is the ultimate dining set and would last you for many generations. Hence becoming a great heirloom. I honestly hope the photos do this set some justice, it's certainly better in the flesh. When fully extended by the leaf system this seats 8 people more than comfortably and 10 easily. The table extends easily by the wind up mechanism where you insert the big handle in one hand(please see close up picture) and ... moreeverything is of course provided. Perhaps the main feature of the table is the fantastic marquetry inlay work on all surfaces. The patterns and designs include flowers. Vines, scrolls and leaves. If you consider the process to acheive this you can appreciate the skill, levels of craftmanship and time it would have taken. Each shape from the designs is cut from the softer fruitwoods(rose, apple etc) and then embedded into the main body of the walnut. You can see the walnut also is gorgeous and it has all just been repolished so the grain has come out. There are even marquetry inlay details on the sides of the table and to the octagonal legs. The legs are on wheels so this is easy to move around. This is a fine table. Offered in perfect condition and ready for home use right away. Then of course we have the set of 8 matching chairs- including two arm chairs and six side chairs. The chairs are solid and sturdy and very comfortable to sit on with the cushioned red fabric seats. These have just been reupolstered so are free from any previous owners smells including pets and smoke, always a bonus. Look at the wealth of marquetry inlay work on the chairs- even on the legs and front.

This beautiful old table is solid and extra-long. Based on its construction, I’m guessing that it’s around 100 years old. I have found no identifying marks. Overall Dimensions: 95 ¾” x 41 ½” x 30” L x W x H) Table Top: 93” x 39 ½” Distance from floor to bottom of the frame: 24 ½” Weight: 163 lbs. Each of the 4 massive legs is made up of 3 or 4 pieces that were glued together before being turned. The leg diameter about halfway up is 4 ¾” And the foot diameter is 5 ¼” There are a few scratches on the top. As you would expect to find on a table that was used for decades. The frame of the table has been repaired in a couple of places, and near one ... morecorner, glue is visible along the outside of the lower edge(see photo#6) There are a few vertical“stripes” around the perimeter, where dark stain ran down the sides. Two of the boards that make up the table top have separated slightly near one end, and the separation extends for a little more than a foot. Each leg is secured by a single square nut. This is an old large farm table I've had in my home for at least 17 years. I hated to let it go. But as the number of granddaughters increased, a longer table was needed, hence the sale of this one. It's not perfect but it never bothered our family. Don't let the rough end scare you! My oldest son's favorite and only spot at the table! Antique Octagonal Center 8 Leg Table Inlaid Ships Wheel Base Claw Type Foot
This is an Inlaid Octagon Table. It has 8 legs. A ships wheel base and claw type feet. The last picture looks white because I wanted to use the flash to show as much detail as possible. Here we have an 8 Ft Farm Table 40 Inches wide. We build primitive furniture here at Red Barn Primitives. We used recyclable materials when possible. The top on this table is Oak Hardwood Flooring. It came out of an opera house built in 1902. It was the stage floor and was salvaged. The bottom of the table which is made of pine painted a black distressed along with the legs. This table is very very Heavy and will be a pick up only item. We are very picky about our builds using hidden pocket screws and only using nails where there is no other option.
