Vintage Two-Tiered Pie Crust End Table, mahogany, excellent condition, 1920-30s
This is a two-tiered pie crust end table that has been in the family since the 1940s. I suspect that it wasn't new when it arrived. It is mahogany. It stands 29 inches high. The diameter of the top shelf is just over a foot, the bottom is about 19 inches. The finish is superb; there is a small chink on the top shelf(shown in one of the photos) and the feet, which never had brass guards, have a few scuffs, but it would not require any refinishing. The undersides of the shelves are nicely oxidized. There is a number across the bottom shelf, but no tag or plate to indicate a maker. Up for auction is a lovely. Well preserved& well cared for, vintage reproduction of a Chippendale style Tilt Top Table, also called a Candle Stand. I believe the top to be made from a solid piece of Tiger Maple; no veneer. I admit that I am not an expert in woods, though. There are no scratches or mars anywhere to my eyes on the table top portion of the table. The circumference is edged in pie crust decorative woodwork. The table is stamped in two different places on the underside with makers mark: 1009. The tilting mechanism on the underside works great and is sturdy. The tripod cabriole legs are heavily carved and are firmly attached to the carved center post of the table.no wobbling. Here is a very nice old table dating from 1907. It was sold by the Hartman Furniture and Carpet Company. I did find that the company was a merchandiser. Not a manufacturer. Someone smarter than me can probably decipher where it was made with the Factory number 139 on the paper label. It also states the factory number was 409 and the finish Wal(walnut) I presume. The legs appear to be hand carved. I'm not sure of the wood type.Bottoms of the legs are very nice but one foot has a faint line that appears a small piece may have came loose and been glued back in. The line is very slight and barely noticeable. I could be wrong but want to desribe it the best I can. The table measures 25 x17 on top and is about 17 1/2 high.

Antique Mahogany Dumb Waiter/Pie Crust Table in very good condition. Some small chips are on the surface. And on the edges in just a few places. As you can see in the pictures, the top tier has some minor chipping. There is no splitting or cracks in the wood anywhere that I can see. It has been well cared for by the same family for many years. It has brass claw feet on its three legs.There is a number 35 embossed on the bottom tier that I believe indicates the year of manufacture. Part of the label is missing, but the name Ferguson remains legible as well as the number. It measures 19 1/2" wide at the widest point on the bottom tier and measures 31" high. Nice mahogany Duncan Phyfe 3 tier parlor table. This table is solid. Sturdy, and in pretty good shape. No cracks or breaks that I could find. Very minor surface wear may be found, nothing significant, and could probably easily be buffed out with a quick stain job. This table stands 42" tall and 25 1/2" in diameter at the largest tier. The second tier is 20 1/2" in diameter. And the top is 14 1/2" There is roughly 10" between the tiers. I am helping a friend sell this piece. It has been in his family for many many years. He is an older gentleman so he will not be able to move the chair around. But I live close by to assist if needed.
