This is a great looking all original trunk with beautiful aged patina and finish. Both the exterior and the interior are in excellent condition for the age. The right handle is missing the top loop and the interior upper left compartment is missing the compartment door(see pictures) But other than that all original components are present. The four original wheels are still in place and operational, and the corner hardware is stamped PAT OCT 77, therefore this trunk was manufactured very near 1890. For your consideration is an antique humpback trunk with very nice oak trim boards along with a very unique tin top and sides. I believe it is all original including leather handles.Paper label inside and all outside trim. The locks on both sides of the trunk have a latch that locks the top down and both work. The colors of the oak slats are a little darker due to their originality and go great with the goldish-yellow tin sections. It measures approx 32 1/4 in wide by 17 deep and 19 in tall. Gorgeous Victorian era antique dome-top steamer trunk. The metal sides and top of this chest are embossed with an intricate floral design that has been painted a wonderful gold color. Contrasting black metal covers the corners and edges and is decorated with braces at the corners and where it meets the oak braces. Two heavy leather handles on either side are worn and broken. Giving the piece an authentic aged fee. The metal lock and fasteners are impressed with decorative designs with an arts& crafts flair. It was made in Holland around 1900. It is different from most coffers in that the top does not open. Instead it has two small drawers and two cabinet doors that open on the front to give access to the storage space within. This is very unique and interesting! The hand carvings that adorn the entire front of the coffer are intricate and lovely. The four main panels appear ... moreto be birds and all the surroundings are carvings of flora. A nice smooth bottom moulding. Simple top, and traditional Dutch bun feet help to balance this carving. The smoother accents keep the coffer from looking gaudy. This is a beautiful wood steamer trunk from the early 1900s. It measures 21" tall. It is 32 l ing and 19" wide. The trunk has an insert and the hinges are replacements. It is in excellent condition, on inspection it does show vintage wear. The side handles are broken and one of the bottom boards is split and the 2 front casters missing. It shows normal scuffing and bumps as you would expect but no abuse. The trunk is solid and sturdy. It comes from a non smoking and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. Carved Oak Scandinavian 1900 Antique Chest or Trunk. Item# B-19662. This hand carved oak chest or trunk from Scandinavia has a mysterious trap door on the left side. Solid oak and paneled all around. Joints have carved wooden pegs. The top has been revarnished for durability. The base has its original finish in very fine condition, and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Wrought iron hinges are original. Inside are two separate bins. One with another inside hinged cover. Measurements of this Renaissance style antique furniture are 45 1/2" wide, 22" deep and 30" tall. Black Antique Trunk with Oak Trim
Lovely old wooden trunk with oak slats and metal trim. Age unknown, reminiscent of the stagecoach days. It is missing its side handles and key. Last photo shows little wheels on bottom. Was probably originally lined with paper. Current vinyl lining is clean and intact. 1900'S GARGOYLE FIGURAL FACE CARVED OAK WOODEN TRUNK/CHEST NORTH WIND WOOD ORNAT
THIS IS A EARLY TRUNK FROM AROUND THE 1920'S MEASURING 40.5" X 19" AND 20.5" TALL THE LID HAS A SLIGHT CURVE ON EITHER FRONT CORNER. THE GARGOYLE FACE HAS A OLD CHIP TO THE TOP OF THE FACE. SEE PHOTOS FOR DETAILS. THIS TRUNK HAS A NICE PATINA. EXPECT IMPERFECTIONS. THERE IS A HOLE WHICH IS MOST LIKELY ORIGINAL TO THE WOOD ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE ON THE TRUNK UP BY THE TOP. ABOUT 1" BLENDS IN WITH PIECE. THERE ARE TWO PLUGS. ONE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE TOP, THEY KIND OF LINE UP. THE PLUGS GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE LID. STRUCTURALLY THIS PIECE IS SOUND. VERY STURDY. THE HINGES ARE NEWER. THE FEET IN THE BACK ARE ROUND. PROBABLY NOT ORIGINAL. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS.
